SimplyEricJames
The update is out. Hey0 doesn't work again. We're playing vanilla. I died when I spawned. The spawn is always the point of return. That is all.
KDStudios
Well that update was epic fail. He first broke single player, now it works. He broke my textures, can't use them until a patch for that comes out =( Players are invisible unless they log out and inYou mess up respawningMonsters + lag = You have no chanceLight = Monsters spawn anyway I've just lost my entire inventory, and that was my friggin chest, I carried all my best stuff so no one could steal it from chests. Thanks a lot notch.Obviously didn't test this very well =/ I'm starting to think it should remain a single player game, multiplayer seems to be too much to ask. Alpha or not, he's been working on this and said it all worked, he must have been playing single player in a multiplayer server because theres no way he could have overlooked these issues. Bring back 1.2.2 =(
SimplyEricJames
The server is now restored with working Hey0 commands. PvP and monsters are disabled because Notch obviously did not fix many issues. Invisible mobs happen, skeleton's arrows are invisible to the player, and the client server communication for killing monsters (or your own death) is buggy. It's possible to get killed on the server side, alive on the client side, and walk around unable to die (since you're already dead on the server) or do anything. Hoping for some fixes soon. TheTerminator2004
The thing to remember, KDStudios is that games are a LOT more complicated than they used to be, so there's a lot more to go wrong. Also, they're all designed to be multithreaded (ie. make use of multiple CPU cores) nowadays, and multithreaded programs are really, really, really difficult - and are notoriously difficult to debug, since problems often only happen one in a hundred times, and are nearly impossible to reproduce. That's the main reason for all the bugs, I think. As for the Minecraft multiplayer bugs... it's still in alpha. Most AAA games wouldn't even have been announced at this stage, let alone made available to customers. Notch'll get it all working soon enough, but until then, we just have to bear with him. RZ1029
/insert joke about vampires Anyways, I'm kind of glad I haven't updated, if there's all these issues. Can't really hate on Notch for it, it's like, what, a 2-3 man team working on a fairly complex game? I mean, it has to generate entire worlds which, to the best of my knowledge, are either absurdly massive or never-ending. Plus the whole dual-threaded stuff that I'm not even going to pretend I really understand. That all being said, backups are a great thing.
KDStudios
Yeah I have backups of the previous versions but to be honest.Single Player is absolutely fine, no issues with that. It's multiplayer that isn't and you need to be updated to use it. IMO Multiplayer was better before the health was "fixed", I thought it would be a good thing but actually it's a pain now =P But at least I found a way to keep 4 items when you die and hope notch doesnt "fix" that either. The 2x2 crafting area, I always use it in single player as emergency inventory space and does the same job in multiplayer but even more so because you keep those items when you die :( But still... I lost my entire inventory and I've had that since the start of the world. >.>
ub3rman123
Well, since I can't log into the SMP server any more, I've been tooling about in single player. I built a moat that has the currents set up to kill mobs. Problem is, no mobs hop in. How do I lure them into the thing?
CommanderCrazy
By making it too wide to jump over, and having no other possible path I would guess.
KDStudios
Yep, make it impossible for them to NOT be able to walk anywhere else but into water that leads to their deaths =]I have a ton of "rivers" that do this, I leave only a 2 block gap for them to walk then in the rivers they go. It's very effective
