Requesting assistance configuring OOO

Hey, first post here, was wondering if you guys could help me.

I'm trying to get back into Oblivion, now I have a new Windows 7 PC capable of running it. I've heard a lot about OOO and wanted to try it, which I have. It's a lot of fun and the gameplay changes in a way that I would not want to reverse and go back to original oblivion. My key problem however comes in the time it takes to level. Starting a new character I have got just over 4 hours playtime, and not yet hit level 2. I'm about 3/4 of the way through level 1 and this is with a character with generic skills (Blunt, Block, Heavy armor, etc). This is fine, but I simply don't have that much time to play the game, and would like to go back to original leveling speed, so I can actually experience some of the higher content within the next few months :P

Looking at http://www.oscurogamedesign.com/works/OOO_133_readme.pdf - (Page 13) There seems to be a way to alter plugins, so that I can get my original leveling speed back, but I can't figure it out. I'm also very new to Windows 7, so the lack of basic system knowledge doesn't help my situation at all. My "Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul\OOO-ADD-ONS\" folder is empty. As far as I know, when I installed OOO, I just copy-pasted everything in that folder into my Data folder, thinking that it must all be good parts of OOO - So I'm not entirely sure what to do now. The leveling is very slow, and I'd like to get the original speed back, how would I actually go about doing this?

The copy of OOO I installed was from a disk sent by my friend, however this was sent a while ago so may not be up to date. Would you recommend I reinstall the mod (Would that mean restarting gameplay? I can live with that) or can I try and fix the situation by altering/downloading plugins? Having not really had much experience with installing mods, frankly I don't know what I'm looking for on download sites like this and Planet Elder Scrolls - I can't tell if I'm downloading the actual mod, or just patches for it due to confusing filenames.

TL;DR - I want to modify the leveling speed so it is at the speed of original oblivion, this is the time it takes to level up skills, and therefore level up as a whole - How can I do this?

Thanks a lot :)

Dave

EDIT - To clarify, I understand the basics of installing and using mods, I've previously played with some small mods, but never as game-changing as OOO. The sheer amount of options is very confusing, and it took me well over an hour to work out exactly which bits needed to go where in my Data file... I still don't think I've got it right!

Second EDIT - While I'm here, how do I modify the load order of mods? I've heard it's important :P

You should not have copied everything over to your data folder -- OOO doesn't work like that. The easiest way to install it is via Oblivion Mod Manager as OOO 1.33 OMOD-ready Complete (it is only the last file of 402.6Mb that you need).

Once you have installed Oblivion Mod Manager, at the bottom you will see a 'Create' button. Press that and point it at the archive you downloaded. It will tell you there is OMOD convertion data and ask if you want to use it. Say yes, then go and have a cup of coffee -- it can take some time, and sometimes looks like nothing is happening. Don't be impatient.

Once the OMOD is created, you will see it in the right hand window. Double click on it and follow all the prompts, and choose your options.

Edit: I should have said that you WILL need to remove all the OOO related stuff you installed previously before you start, especially any esp files.

My thanks to you both -

I've got OBMM working and now have OOO installed, with original oblivion leveling rates! It's worked!

Is it possible to go through the OOO setup process via OBMM again, to change some of the options at any point, or does that require that I remove the OOO files and restart the install of it via OBMM? Just wondering.

Now that you have OOO as an OMOD, all you need to do is disable it in OBMM and reactivate it -- go through the options again. There is no need to do anything manually with an omod.

You'll have to reinstall OOO 1.34b5 on top of 1.33 after you reinstall it. Do either that, or, when prompted to overwrite anything during the OOO 1.33 install, hold CTRL land click "no" to make sure nothing is overwritten.
