Okay, so I have at the moment a crap laptop without Internet that can play Oblivion at around 15 fps in the wilderness and a computer that for various reasons cannot be used to play Oblivion or the CS but can download the mods and I can transfer to my laptop via a flash drive. I am experianced in the ways of Oblivion ( I have GOTY on steam that was downloaded to my laptop before my Internet broke). I would like to know what key mods/modding resources I would have to download. I am more interested in playing mods rather than modding, by I'd like to give both a go. Also, would my laptop be able to play modded Oblivion. It has a dual core Intel processor that is running at around 1.6 Ghz, integrated graphics and 2 Gbs of RAM. It is about 6-8 years old. I have played around invthe .ini settings and changed that around to my liking, doesn't crash except occasionally.I know I will have to download OMOD and Wyre Bash, but what others? (Maybe not written correctly as this is being written on my itouch).

There is a German made mod for Oblivion that is a total conversion mod but it's all in German. The English version is coming out in September. I think that is the one you will want as it will be something totally new, but not require any more hardware than you need/have for Oblivion.

hey, a new face at modding

WELCOME!

Id reccomend getting a feel for oblivion unmodded and the nexus before ya mod

I agree with Calliton here ...

Play it Vanilla so you get the feel of what the game is and then mod the daylights out of it after you've gone through it to see what it can be.

Only drawback is once you play it modded, you'll never touch vanilla again (played on 360 first, loved it, got it for PC and commenced to mod it up to it's eyballs) :whistling:

But if you are looking for a recommended mod, I'd say start with a body mod. Fin one you like (there's plenty) and go from there.

I have been through vanilla Oblivion so many times with so many different characters (have had it for about a year) that I hope I have a 'feel for it'. I just wanted to know what major resources like Wrye Bash and OBMM that would be helpful to have.

It's not essential to Wrye Bash, it depends how many mods you install, Boss is good for load order.

OBMM is essential

and it's extension

also get the Unofficial Oblivion patch

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296

and it's update

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27710

and the unofficial shivering isles patch

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10739

Archive Invalidation

and lastly OBSE

this lot will help a great deal with installing mods and getting them to run correctly.
