Language change

Many things like effects and some names of items were changed during some mod loads, now I can not get it back to English.

All alchemy effects and many basic name labels in the menus were changed.

It sounds like you have inadvertently installed a German version of a mod. First you must find what mod it is and completely remove ALL parts of it. Just disabling the esp will not work. Then, start the game and test to be sure you got it all. Make a new save. Now, if there is an English version, install that one and try it.

 

Many German mods append DV (Deutch Version) to the name and EV (English Version) for the English version.

 

If you somehow managed to use a German patch instead of English, you will have to reinstall as the official patches make changes to the actual Oblivion.exe and Oblivion.esm which cannot be undone. The unofficial patches are really mods and not true patches and can be uninstalled like any other mod.
