Ultimate Heist, Giving The Ring

When I give the countess of anvil the ring, she stands up and starts talking with the gray fox. At a certain point, he says he will give the cowl to the new guildmaster. When that piece of text is done, the countess sits down, and the gray fox doesn't say a thing anymore. And I still can't move or access my inventory. I guess I should get my controls back so I can talk to the gray fox about my reward and promotion. But it never happens! I've waited for minutes and minutes and reloading doesn't help. The gray fox just stands there and the countess is sitting in a very strange

way. (gray fox at the right side, i'm in the middle)

Is it possible to get the control over the player back with a console command? I don't have any saves before they talk, just one in the middle and the end. I still have to start the ultimate heist quest on the save file before that one.

First, any mods running that affect timescale?

You might also want to try typing "enableplayercontrols" in console, or targeting the grey fox and typing "evp" or "startconversation" if you know they are supposed to talk to you. I'm not familiar with the quest, so I don't know what's supposed to happen.

tcl didn't work, but enableplayercontrols did! Everything works just fine now. Thanks! I didn't install the latest patch yet, but i'll do that now.

I think it was a bug in the game itself, not a mod. I don't have anything that is related to it. Unless NE has some new hidden functions ;)

I came across a possibly similar problem a lot with one of the earlier TG quests - the one where Heironymous is approached by the dremora with a message. I found that the game engine can't cope if an NPC moves across the path of another NPC during a player controls-locked sequence. It'll get the dialogue out but the player won't be released automatically.

It's something to keep in mind if you have the problem again.
