xiwi
Hi everyone, I've downloaded some mods from the website for Dragon Age Origins, that need placing in the override folder. Most of the time they include instructions and I've observed that:- Most instructions tell you to put files in "core/override"- Some of them tell you to place files in "single player/override", specially *.GDA files So my questions are:- Does it really matter the folder? which is the logic behind it?- I assume "single player" actually stands for the main campaign (as there is no multiplayer :P), is that asumption correct?- Placing files in both folders causes any problems?- Does the modmanager check conflicts between override and dazips or only between override files? PD: sorry if this is common knowledge, couldn't find it with forum search or google searching ;)Also thanks to all modders out there, you make this game great! Kaerar
Modmanager ignores Override only mods. They are not selectable and not removable with the Modmanager's or the ingame DLC management. Placing most stuff in core\override is recommended. Certain mods need to be put in single player\override as they are Origins only and not intended for any addon DLC. Placing files in both folders doesn't necessarily cause issues unless the mod is not intended for expansions like Leliana's Song or Awakenings for instance. Not advisable to put in both though as you may forget what's been put where...
AbrasaxDrake
Q1. Does it really matter the folder? which is the logic behind it? A. I dont even have a singleplayer folder, all my overide files are placed into ..\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override ***Q2. I assume "single player" actually stands for the main campaign (as there is no multiplayer :P), is that asumption correct? A. YES! :) *** Q3. Placing files in both folders causes any problems? A. Don't know. See question 1. *** Q4. Does the modmanager check conflicts between override and dazips or only between override files? A. You Mean DAMM? It only checks overide files. *** Hope this helps.
xiwi
Thanks for the replies! Yes I use DAMM v1.9d, which lets me manage override packets ^_^ Ok will put everything in the core one, I guess I can simply disable things, that bring problems when playing other campaigns. One further question then, does "single player override" work with awakening? planning to get it soon.
AbrasaxDrake
Sorry, can't help you with that one. I don't own awakening.
nezroy
One further question then, does "single player override" work with awakening? planning to get it soon. No, core override is the only one that "works" with Awakening; which is to say, only those items are applied to the game when Awakening is loaded instead of the Origins campaign. Single player overrides are not. Whether or not any particular item in core override *actually* works with Awakening is entirely dependent on the specific mod.
