cryocry
For anyone who reads this, and puts their files into mod folders (like who ever made the 3rd Pax, you'll know what I mean) like when you open Win Zip or WinRAR or whatever you use, I've noticed that it puts the stuff when you open your folder so it goes:C:\ProgramFiles\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\3rd Pax\Meshes(or whatever)You have to move everything out of that, and if their in folders, that makes it even harder. So please, put everything so that when you open it up, you don't have to go through that process, so when you open it up, it should say :Meshes(if you have it)Textures(if you have it)Icons(if you have it)[mod].esp
Adras
However, WinZip does not do that. WinRar will seperate things into folders, so you can tell where they go. From my experiences, WinZip just throws everything in the same file. And yes, do put things in the correct folders, UNLESS the readme tells you otherwise. If (using cryocry's example) the 3rd Pax mod has a mesh or texture in it's own folder (eg. C:\ProgramFiles\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\3rd Pax\Meshes) and the readme tells you to put it there, then do so.

In the readme, as I remember, it just said extract everything to the data folder. So, yeah.
GBHis
It doesn't do that. In the readme, as I remember, it just said extract everything to the data folder. So, yeah. Including subfolders? :)If not, it's maybe added for convenience for omod-users... "Add Folder"-feature. I love it. The nif/esp would have some sort of *virtual* path to the other files... Adras
Well, I suppose I havent downloaded any Oblivion mods that need files in other folders then, because I have never downloaded a mod for Oblivion or Morrowind that tells you to extract everything to the data folder when it has meshes and textures. I did download a landscape mod and when I opened the zip file (in WinRar), it told me what folders to put the files into. I believe that only the .esp files should be put into the data folder itself. You extract everything (everything is highlighted) to the data folder, so everything goes to that respective folder that it goes to (meshes to meshes, textures to textures, esps to data). I just figured something out! In WinRar, you just drag everything out on the desktop, then drag back into the main section, then proceed as usual.
