Megatarius Posted August 10, 2010 Share Posted August 10, 2010 I use Supreme Magicka, so maybe the things I'm talking about are the result of that, and not vanilla: Two things about fire that need to be corrected: 1. When you jump in the water while on fire, it doesn't go out. :wallbash: 2. There is an onfire.kf file in the bsa, but apparently they never implemented it because every time I catch fire from a trapped chest, I just stand there burning. There should be an option to press a button over and over to stop drop and roll, or your character will run around screaming for the duration. Also, you lose whatever clothes you were wearing, and your armor disintegrates completely. Does a mod like this exist? I couldn't find anything on this site besides fire swords, fire races, and fire textures. I'd be happy to make the mod myself, but I don't have nearly the scripting knowledge. Can what I'm talking about be done? If so, I'd give it a shot, but I'd like to know before I make an attempt. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Slawter500 Posted August 10, 2010 Share Posted August 10, 2010 The water thing might be possible. One on hand there is a certain mod which allows you to exstinguish torches with "Water arrows". However fire and lighting are two seperate things. I doubt it's possible, all though if a script recognised your character changing to the swimming animation, and thus activated an effect which did not include fire, then that might work. That would be very difficult. A whole new animation. Rigging it to a key isn't difficult, but animators are difficult to come by for request. They are scarce even when they work solo. Blender's method of animating is very different from what I could tell. I've been following the tutorial Noob to Pro, but certain steps didn't do what they were supposed to. I have access to 3ds Max at my old school. I've been thinking about teaching myself that anyway, since that's the tool they used to make the game in the first place. As for the mod, wouldn't it be possible to make a script that, once the player enters "swimming" state, to just cancel the magic effect of fire? What about, once the magic effect is activated, a counter starts, and after two or three seconds it makes the character run around automatically, and then stops that after the effect wears off? It would be after a few seconds because otherwise you would do it after just getting singed with a fireball as well, which is overkill. I just want something better than standing there like a lump, even if it's running into the wall. It could also execute the onfire.kf, whatever that is.
