Best Graphics/Beauty Enhancing Mods

Over the years I've installed many many MANY mods. I've also had millions of crashes and had to reinstall Oblivion again and again. I don't want mods that add anything too special to the game, or change the gameplay much at all. I really just want Tamriel, Oblivion, and the Shivering Isles to be prettier.

Now you may think I'm lazy for asking someone else to find the best mods for me, but trust me, I have looked long and hard, tried lots of different mods, and always ended up crashing everything and having to start right over again. I'm just tired of that, and I think I'm not the only one who could use a nifty list like this.

 

Specifically I'm looking for:

-improved meshes and textures for all parts of male and female characters for all races

-mods that change the vanilla armor and clothing to fit the improved body meshes

-fancy-pants lighting effects for the world

-realistic water

-improved textures, saddlebags, and reigns for all horses in the game

-stops vampirism from changing the character's appearance while retaining spells and the ability to feed on sleepers

-more options and replacements for vanilla eyes for all races

-gothic/vampire style clothing for both genders that will not screw up with the improved body meshes/textures

-better potions models and matching icons

-anything else that improves the graphics/aesthetic appeal of the game or some small part of it.

-removes skill caps

 

I do NOT want:

-new races

-new locations

-long new quests

-mods designed to turn the game into porn

 

If anyone posts mods that work and don't kill each other, I'll put them up here for myself and other people. Please LINK to the mod, don't just give me a name and send me on another hunt.

I'd say, 'Get any body replacer'. Most of major body replacers have underwear mesh, so make sure to install underwear version. Also those body replacers have clothing/armor mesh replacers.

 

-improved textures for horses, including Shadowmere

-saddlebags and reigns for horses

Check Slof's Horses.

 

-a vampire mod that makes vampires "pretty" while not removing their fangs/ability to feed

There're some 'vampire without vampirism' mod. If you can use OBSE, try OBSE plugin 'Vampire Race Disabler'. It works with many vampire mods.

 

**If you end up crashing your game due to mods, you need to consider mod confliction, wrong loading order, and some other things.

+ Roberts Male Body v5 Beta for males (clothing and armour is included in that mod).

LTD Vampire Overhaul features toggle-able Monstrous Form, turn into a wolf, turn into bats, turn into mist, hypnotize people, bite the awake, toggle-able night vision and sense blood (major long distance detect life) just to name a few... The monstrous form also removes the aging just adds deeper sockets and cheeks when showing your true nature.

 

If you use a custom race and suffer from the wacko eyes bug (if you suffer from this you will know what I'm talking about Takhissis' Custom Race Vampire Eye Fix I: Mystic Elf while built for the Mystic Elf custom race I have used on 8 different custom races without issue. It fixes this by replacing the missing vampire eye meshes with the red vampiric looking eyes from Ren's Beauty Pack (you do not need the pack the meshes n textures are included)

Unfortunately I don't see anything about beast races or male faces :(

 

Body replacer does not affect faces. In Oblivion and Fallout 3, facial shapes are determined by base head mesh and FaceGen sliders. Also this game allows only one body shape per gender. You can pick one replacer for female, and one for male, but you cannot use two or more female body replacer at once. If you want different body shape for beast race, you will need scripted wearable body parts(check Argonian Beautification).

I didn't include changes to the face. I've made my own custom face texture for vanilla races.

 

Beast race textures are included in the base mods (HG Eye Candy and Robert's Male) to fit the UV's of those body models. I usually ignore beast races that weren't made by me, so I really can't help much there.
