Commandersven218
I just bought the GOTY edition and I've played a new game for about 6 hours but have yet to receive the shivering isles message that starts the quest. What can I do to start the quest? Also, I used the alternate start mod, does that affect it?
LFact
Make sure you installed Shivering Isles. If you installed it, you should be able to find DLCShiveringIsles.esp and several files named DLCShiveringIsles*.bsa. Or, you can test it in-game: Open console, type 'player.additem 7393A 1'. If SI is installed, you will find light blue regalia in your inventory, else you will get error message.

LFact
dont know but som people forget to load the esp so look in your oblivion louncher/data files and if is not checked joust activate the esp SI intergrates its objects/quests/scripts/etc into Oblivion.esm when installed. So, the quest will be on journal even without checking the plugin(in fact, DLCShiveringIsles.esp is dummy plugin only for loading SI resources). If you have GoTY, do not forget to install second disc as well..

Yamcakes
Do you also have a mod that edits the ini settings to make in-game hours the same length as real hours? If so, sleep for 24 hours and see if that helps.
