ENB troubleshooting

Hey guys, I've recently started with a completely fresh intall of vanilla Skyrim so I could test around with some mods and find an ENB (among other things) to start a new game with. I plan on using Phinix Natural ENB. I went through the installation process shown in Gopher's video (

) and I've had some weird results. I have SKSE installed as well as a few other very simple mods (right now I'm just running all the unoffical patches, iHUD, SkyUI, and A Quality World Map though I plan to add more later like Skyrim HD 2k texture packs).
Anyway, after I completed the installation process and tried running skyrim, the ENB did not come up in game. On the loading screen it said the ENB version and detected my graphics card, though. So I closed the game and checked my SkyrimPrefs.ini and one of the values I had changed to 1 had reverted to 0 so I changed it back to 1. Loaded the game and the ENB was working. I had to go do something at that time so I closed the game and when I came back the ENB was doing the same thing it did when I first tried to run it. 2 hours of troubleshooting later I was unable to get the ENB to run anymore. Any thoughts?

always run anything as a admin, go to property on your Skyrim & SkyrimPref.ini and check it for read only it will be good.

Edit:you are using Skse to start right? if not everytime you start via the launcher it'll check the .ini, that's why they revert back to the original

I will test running as an admin later today when I get off work, but as far as I don't think that's going to be the problem.

Yes I was launching through SKSE, that's the only way I launch the game unless I'm updating some the built in graphics settings.

It may be worth noting that after I got the ENB working the one time I did, before I launched the game the next time I did install the SMIM and Skyrim HD 2k texture pack. I tried uninstalling those first thing but it did nothing.

Also worth noting is that the ENBs in game commands and in game config menu seem to work, although any changes I make in them have no effect in the game itself.

I'm going to try a complete reinstall of the ENB tonight as well.

I've searched for a duplicate skyrimprefs.ini thinking that might be the culprit but I didn't find one last night. I also checked to make sure all the values were still at the correct setting for the ENB, and they were.

I don't think this should matter as it seems to be a software issue, but my specs are as follows:

Windows 7 64 bit

Intel Core i5 4670k (stable over clock at 4.0 ghz)

Nvidia GeForce Gtx 770 with 2gb VRAM

8 gb RAM

no your specs are fine for this but, Smim+ HD2K are really taxing , they are only textures and meshes nothing related with the enb, the 3 will decrease your perf that's all :).

the best is to re-install, use only the D3D9.dll + EnbHost from the Wrapper file. then copy past all the file from the ''1-ToSkyrim Folder'' in your master file.

FyI: the Enb is the .DLL so even you just install this, you will have the in-game menu, Phinix preset is the modified coding made by the author, and so far this is what isn't working

for the .ini's you need these lines

bFloatPointRenderTarget=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
iBlurDeferredShadowMask=5 (use this setting if you have your shadows set to "Ultra" in the SkyrimLauncher)

for any Enb, if you don't set this, nothing will work
