Tarcin
My oblivion game at first wasn't letting me create new games, but now it won't even get past the bethesda screen! I tried reinstalling it twice, and deleting the change log files, but it still isn't working. Please help me, I'm desperate now. Before my game was working fine until I installed the shivering isles expansion. I was reading on the bethesta home page, that you may need to uninstall oblivion and start all over again because both patches need to be installed after oblivion and Shivering Isles have been installed.Don't Take my word for it though!!!!!Go to the bethesda home page and read what you need to do there. This dose not happen with the GOTY set. bben46
Unfortunately, the Bethesda uninstall doesn't really uninstall much. It leaves a lot behind that will cause problems on a reinstall. Including any corupted saves, any problem mods, any trouble with the ini file and worst of all, several entries in the Windows registry that will have your game looking in the wrong places for things. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. It also details the order to install, and when and what patches to use.
