Evangelion_2014
A good sword at your level would be one of the dremora weapons, as they are daedric without level restrictions. They may have more or less of what you want and don't want. They don't do quite as much damage as deadric though. They do about as much as steel.l

I never bother with dremora weapons when going through oblivion gates unless it has a reeeally good enchantment.

DeathmatchTheTitan
that all depends on your skill ... i use a silver sword from time to time and yes it is good attack damage but i use arkavi (sp?) katanas It's Akaviri, and how many do you have? The armor's cuirass isn't good, 8 points of armor rating, so I imagine everything else is bad, to killer of mages.p.s.Mage with pride! However, a battlemage. i am on level 5 is the silver sword good for me?I use that at level 13(when not using akaviri katana or elven longswor). At that level i had a Steel Longsword and Battle Axe of Destruction. GBHis
The pirate sabres found in the Waterfront are nice for beginners... 5, 7 or 8 damage. And they look cool!

Vagrant0
Should probably take that silver sword, a good supply of healing potions, maybe a decent fire damage spell, and head over to anvil docks, and check around one of the ships for a quest. If you can manage to survive, you'll end up getting some nice weapons out of it. A summon spell can help divert attention if you find it too hard. However the pirtates are tough if you don't have the guard to help you out though. There's a saber available in the Leyawiin Fighters' Guild Hall. Then again, there's a Silver Shortsword and a Silver War Axe ripe for the taking in the Blackwood Company Hall just across the street... Either case, you have to get past a lock, though there is no trespass or stealing tied to either action (unless you're not a member of the Fighters' Guild). GBHis
Just make sure that the guard is around, go to the ship and run for the Waterfront. With a good level of acrobatics, jump onto one of the houses and lean back and see the guard take 'em out... Or even better, the pirates taking out the guard ;)
Rhydderch Hael
Why does everybody say you need good Acrobatics in order to get onto a Waterfront hovel rooftop? The abandoned house where you meet Armand has a crate and a shed that serve admirably as stepping points to get onto its roof— without a large investment in Acro.
