I'm male and I play male characters 99% of the time, 100% in Fallout 3. I've even made my Fallout 3 character, as well as my Oblivion character, look like me. But I plan on making the first female main character I've ever played in New Vegas.

 

When I've made female characters none of them were ever main characters, and I've only created about three female characters that I've extensively played. One was a rogue in Diablo, and the other two are elves I've made in Dragon Age primarily to get origin achievements.

I'm male and I play as females. I even play female in Ravenshield, where the only really noticeable difference is the voice for announcing things like grenades or hostiles. While I often go for the more provocative looks, I also have characters that look like this:

I see, I too always play as a Male character.

 

I just tried a Female character, but I am not sure wethere to play it or no, it is hot and all but it doesn't feel right to play it...
