Cyrus is a teenage tart who is only popular because some men are incredibly stupid and like staring at naked women-or in this case, children. Just take lady gaga for example, no singing talent, but she dresses like a stripper so hey! that doesnt matter!. Lets face it, pretty much any any teenage girl can "make it" as a singer as long as she wears sufficiently nothing-makes me sick.

 

Bieber's voice alone makes me hate him. And the moment this talentless child reaches puberty, that will be gone forever. Bieber is passing aberation, his voice will fail in a year or two, and then the legions of zombified fans will find a new master.

 

And as for spears and maddona, they're just cyrus with more wrinkles. I dont have any respect for women who consider prancing around on a stage in their undergarments while shrieking away with their shrill and unmelodious voices to be high fashion or high art. I really miss the days when singers had talent. And HAD to have talent. Nowadays you just need botox, breast augmentattion, and rich parents. And then the millions of teenagers who've never experienced REAL music will worship you like a diety.

I have said it before , I will say it again, and I will keep saying it until one of these overhyped, no-talent, pieces of sh*t prove me wrong:

 

Corporate music entertainment is dead - indies is where the talent is.

 

You want good music? Grab stuff like the Ataris, Atreyu, Tsunami Bomb (they disbanded, but still - three albums) and others oftheir ilk. They aren't just in it for the money - they love it, and that shows through in their work. Hell, locally you can look up concerts in the paper and see which garage bands are playing where and check out and support local musicians in your town. Right now, the warped tour is coming through, check em out - you might just find your new favourite band amid the chaos.

 

If you must buy from the commercial engine, support bands that are working bands (meaning they make their income off of album sales and performances and not boatloads of merchandising).

 

If you agree that music today sucks, forget the corporations - get your music from the people who still rememeber what music's all about

This was so not a category in which I intended to participate until I happened to see this reference to Lady Gaga. Believe it or not, I actually "listened" to her sing recently and got past the performance, and she can sing. I understand the whole schtick and what makes her popular with the young crowd (of which I am not a member), but as Povuholo says, her singing is not only "not that bad", the girl can sing. But she will ruin her voice fairly soon I think if she continues to use it in this manner. And I think this is where the corporate stuff comes in. They don't give a "hoot" about the talent, just the bucks.

 

Just in reference to the original question, in my opinion, there is no comparison between Madonna and Brittany. Madonna has talent and Brittany does not. Again, I'm older and perhaps that will be held against me; but I've always tried to stay in touch with the current music. I remember being a kid and thinking older people will always hate the music of "today's" youth. I will make a point of not being that way. And I have kept to that promise. I enjoy all music, from classical to country, from all nations, rap, hip hop, rock, 40's, even some metal, yes and even whatever that is that's being played today. Music keeps us alive and in touch with one another. But there are many performers of music who just are not very good. But let them enjoy themselves. I know where the off button is.
