Scarecrow23
To bite the first responses in the butt, no do NOT use AdBlock or any of that garbage. It causes more problems then it's worth and this isn't the topic to discuss it; like Google has said, annoying/obtrusive ads are the problem, not online ads. Plus it defeats the purpose for this site. Anyway, recently the Ads on this site have been getting worse and worse to the point that I think 2/3s of the pages I visit have annoying as hell, loud ass talking ads. I know quite a few sites I visit have rules for that and they tell their users to report any so they can tell their content publishers or whatever to get rid of them. Now I'm not sure what the costs for the site are or any of that logistical stuff and it may be tight around here and if thats the case then I guess we'll have to just suck it up; but if at all possible please look into making it a policy to getting rid of the crap like we have now. Nothing makes me want to click an ad less then this crap.
Eiries
Dark0ne is constantly filtering ads to provide more appropriate advertisement, costs, etc. That being said, they do get changed quite often. If you encounter a malicious ad, you can report it here. To bite the first responses in the butt, no do NOT use AdBlock or any of that garbage. It causes more problems then it's worth...Er... all right, sure. I'd rather not recommend them though, since those effectively destroy profits the site could otherwise be gaining towards maintaining the site. The poll here is pretty much a dud; it's presence isn't going to accomplish anything. Instead, consider using this thread as a spot for you to point out the specific ads you are referring to, either through screenshots, gathering the url, or both. That way Dark0ne can be aware of the ad and better consider a potential replacement in the future.

I'm not sure what you're saying with your first statement, I guess you misunderstood me since you're saying the exact same thing. As to the poll its to see if I am wasting my time or not and... get ready for it... gauge peoples opinions. I'm not trying to start a petition or anything. If Dark0ne say's he'll use the topic as a some sort of annoying ad report then I'd be happy to report them, and hopefully others would as well. If not, then again I am wasting my and everyone else's time.
Vindekarr
I find it worrying how many lying adds exist. One was advertising an "mmo" that had "17,000,000 players online" now. If that is true, then that agem is approaching DOUBLE of world of warcraft's total accounts registered since release including trial acounts and those of used by blizzard and in testing. And it was claiming that all those peole were online at ONCE. And then you've got endless, endless, endless manga adds exstolling the "virtues" of trillions of "free to play you no need downLOad emm emm ow" Not only are adds that are obviously shady to say the least offensive, but they usualy show semi pornography lolitu imagry, and usualy its about five diferent images being used by many many "games". For example one particular slideshow animated add background is used by not one but 4 diferent "mmos" Im also deeply angered by their butchery of engrish. Engrish is a noble trade language, but to butcher engrish, itself butchered engLish, is just WRONG.' And you've seen the lies and propaganda those "pristontale" jerks spread around here. Jumping in on a new account and advertising spam-usualy with no grasp on reality or logic. I mean, for a little revenge I quized one about the details of thegame he was advertising, and he didnt have a frickin clue what it was. And answered with so manu um and ahh that I actualy laughed out loud is disgust.
Pushkatu
I use the Noscript or what ever it is called add-on from Firefox, but I have disabled it for the Nexus sites. I never had problems with ads here. No sounds, no viruses. It depends on your location I guess, different countries, regions etc...
Pyrosocial
Um, i have no idea what ads you guys are talking about. in my time at nexus i have never seen a single one.
Eiries
Um, i have no idea what ads you guys are talking about. in my time at nexus i have never seen a single one. You probably have an adblocker of some type. For kicks, I actually logged out for once and checked out the Nexus' background ad-based site. I found the following. Black Tree Gaming, which is not an ad site but is actually the best site ever and worth checking out asap. XD Intergi, a specialized ad site dedicated to video gaming. ADTECH US, a digital marketing company owned by AOL. As the name suggests, I can only guess these are where the majority of US-based ads come from, and probably any loud ones (remember CONGRATULATIONS, YOU WON A FREE IPOD, anyone?) So those are your two ad sites here. One aiming at video gamers, one aiming at a wider audience, especially the US. I find it worrying how many lying adds exist. All of the MMO-based ads are probably coming from Intergi. Those sort of ads have been around for a good long while. They're usually pretty cheesy but... otherwise harmless. :) As to the poll its to see if I am wasting my time or not and... get ready for it... gauge peoples opinions. I'm not trying to start a petition or anything. If Dark0ne say's he'll use the topic as a some sort of annoying ad report then I'd be happy to report them, and hopefully others would as well. If not, then again I am wasting my and everyone else's time.I was pretty much saying the poll was unnecessary, since it can be safely assumed nobody wants to hear audibly disruptive advertisements while they're browsing the Nexus. If you want to see these ads gone, try to point out which one's you're referring to. He'll see it. You don't have to wait for permission or anything. I just heard it again for like the 30th time :wallbash:. And apparently the US gets the shaft with Ads or something if you don't see very many  Annoying Ad #1: http://data.liquidmedianetworks.com/applications/output/devlp.php?v=11&data=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5oeXBlcnRyYWNrZXIuY29tL2dvL3JlZGxpbmVpbnNpZGVyL1ZDd2FsbWFydC9AQEZyZWUgJDEwMDAgV2FsbWFydCBHaWZ0IENhcmQhQEBAMQ== Annoying Ad #2: http://data.liquidmedianetworks.com/applications/output/devlp.php?v=11&data=aHR0cDovL29ubGluZXJld2FyZGNlbnRlci5jb20vcmRfcD9wPTE4NjgyNiZ0PTk1NDImYz0mYT0xMDY1QEAyIEZyZWUgaVBvZCBOYW5vcyFAQDEwNjVAMQ==
Eiries
*cackles* That's the spirit! Now we're getting somewhere! It makes me feel a little cozy knowing there's still loud, hideous iPod-related ads here. But seriously, keep 'em coming. That last one is particularly cruel, asking you to put in your bloody email address...
