djhoerauf
guess the subject pretty much says it... i dont own the game but steam has a great deal on the game of the year version wanted to check it out but heard Oblivion has great mods, like Dragon age and fallout 3.. which i have played a bunch and enjoyed the mods the community has made. Thanks appreciate your response
antonkr
I think they should work fine with steam. I just got the Deluxe Edition and everything runs perfectly . Considering the DLCs are like mods but official I would think it works fine. I don't have any unofficial mods installed yet though.
shaklee1
Trust me, mods work for the Steam version of Oblivion. I should know, I have the Steam version. Mods are placed in Steam/steamapps/common/oblivion/Data. You can even use OBSE with the Steam version (where the readme provides instructions on how to install OBSE if you have the Steam version, because I think the location of OBSE changes slightly depending on whether you have the retail version or the Steam version). Maskar
When installing mods through OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) you might sometimes have to remove the OBSE check to properly install it. Or better, you could download a fixed version at http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10397984&postcount=
Pronam
Obse just has to be placed in the oblivion directory, which changed but the rest is practically the same. You don't even have to use the obse launcher, It'll load along when you use steam with the most recent version at Silverlock
Krases
I have the steam version (same deluxe edition deal) and have a dozen mods already. I had some trouble installing OBSE though because the instructions were vague as can be, so I got a slightly earlier version (17b) and managed to get that working. Other than that, I have had no problems installing mods with OBMM. You guys should expect a lot of threads like this in the future because that deal was awesome. So good I even have two copies of oblivion now (though the deluxe edition did come with all that DLC, so totally worth it).
