123rune20 Posted August 13, 2010 Share Posted August 13, 2010 I think I have too many, I see quite a few red boxes popping up around, not sure all of which are causing it, so I think I'm going to uninstall, reinstall, and add a few of the mods back, while making sure which ones make the red boxes. Yes, I have tried FO3Edit but there are so many conflicts and stuff, I think it's easier to just do a fresh install. bben46 Posted August 13, 2010 Share Posted August 13, 2010 The red boxes are not an indication of too many mods but of a missing mesh. The mod limit is 254 and it will crash, not give visual anomalies. Missing meshes can be caused by an improperly installed mod. - The meshes either not installed or installed in the wrong place. bethjunkie Posted August 13, 2010 Share Posted August 13, 2010 The latest versions of FOMM have exposed an issue with installation scripts for many mods causing some of the resources to not fully install. Quetzlsacatanango Posted August 13, 2010 Share Posted August 13, 2010 I have seen it where too many mods (over a hundred or so for me, less or more for others - well short of 254) will cause assets to start dropping out - meshes, textures, what have you. If this is your issue, deactivate a few plugins and see if the problem goes away. It's not caused by a specific mod, once you get below the number all will be well, no matter which plugins you remove. I don't know what causes it. 123rune20 Posted August 14, 2010 Author Share Posted August 14, 2010 Well, see, I had the Mini Hideout activated, then all of sudden it screwed up, red boxes in there, and like flashing textures. Okay, I didn't know what the mod limit was. And I suppose I should have checked for updates in all of the my other mods that I have had for a while, and updates for FOSE and FOMM too. Well, I was definitely back a few patches on just about everything, back two patches on FOMM, three patches on FWE, a patch on EVE. So I updated everything, seems to work a lot better now, except I noticed a few problems. The first was a laser pistol, like a Wattz 1000 Pistol or something, I believe it was added by a mod, but it's not showing up, it's just a big red square.
