Hey all, I go by Swift in the online community, and I've recently started modding oblivion. I enjoy games like everyone else here, I live in the US, and I'm 21 years old. I've played through Morrowind, but never got around to modding it, and I recently purchased the Oblivion Game of the Year version on Steam, and have been addicted to the game since. Unfortunately, I have yet to finish the main storyline of Oblivion, but I'm diligently playing through. Before someone mentions it, I do intend on working on full-scale mods only after I finish the game, but I'm still learning for the time being.

I've never made anything in 3D, however I've been 'designing' games for about 7-8 years. I have however, made a small mod as I started learning the CS, and I would love some feedback for it:

or

Keep in mind this is the first thing I've ever created in 3D, so go easy :)

I do plan on working on a series of mods, primarily quest-related, that I've dubbed "The Oblivion Project", or TOP for short. I've got design documents written up for a few different mods so far.

So, to end this huge post, I do hope I get to know some of you, and would love some tips on modding in general. I'm always up for constructive critism.

Welcome to the nexus. Firstly, from that video I can tell you one thing for certain: Your first mod trumps my first mod. Mine was "bashin stick" an invicible god item. It was simply a retextured club with uber stats, and even then I managed to make it glitch! But everyone has to start out small and work their way up, and even now, months after that first faltering step I'm making standard, fun, workable oblivion mods just like anyone elses. You may start out small, but you'll get better. And seeing as how well that first mod turned out, you'll probably do quite well. Oh, and if Calliton bites you, smile and bandage the wound. He is just being friendly.

I've still got a lot to learn for the CS. My passion is game design, so modding is just the next step towards a paying career in the field. Thanks for such positive feedback on the video, i really put some effort into making it look like a part of the oblivion world.

FRESH BLOOD! *chomp*

welcome

*Smiles*

*Puts a bandage on*

Am I a vampire now?
