jessebannon
This is my first mod I'm building. I'm the landscaper, I have friends who know how to script and program NPCs with quests and all that.We will be using only whats available in the CS, because none of us know how to make new buildings/armors/ect. unfortunately. But, could you guys give me some feedback on my latest castle I've built? Please remember that this is my first mod, so don't troll me too bad. You can find more information about the mod here if you're interested. http://www.oblivionfalcormod.webs.com/ Thanks guys.
ub3rman123
How did you get the sidewalk to work going sideways like that? I've been trying to figure out how Bethesda did it for years now. Same for the stone fences.
jessebannon
Just look under the "Static" Section on the Construction Set, and there should be a "Sidewalk" tab under the "Architecture" tab. There is a large variety of sidewalk pieces. As for the stone fences, they have their own section too, not sure where though...
ub3rman123
I know where they are, it's just that some pieces curve a little off the usual grids. Which is really weird.
yeahchris
Very nice looking! Only thing that I thought looked a bit odd was the waterfall. Seemed like it got smaller towards the bottom. Does the castle have an interior yet? And will you be releasing it on the nexus when it's finished? I'd love to put a character in that, provided it's companion friendly. jessebannon
ub3rman123: I just used the pieces in that and carefully aligned them myself.yeahchris: I kind of noticed that too, but nothing I can really do to fix it :/, but thanks for the compliment :D! The interior will be worked on once my friend comes over sometime, we have a local team worling on this project (I'm the landscaper). The castle is only a small portion of the very big mod project called "Falcor" (won't be done for months, or possibly a year), this is only the beginning of a new, beautiful world. It will be uploaded to TesNexus, and you may possibly be the owner of the castle, not so sure yet, depends on the story line.
FireFlickerFlak
Very cool! The gardens look neat and I like the smaller dragon statues. I am a little confused about how the interior waterfalls work. Is the castle going to be built into a cliff with a river running into it, is it powered by a pump/magic or is it just for cosmetic purposes for now? bdavis8529
It looks great so far. Nice job We will be using only whats available in the CS, because none of us know how to make new buildings/armors/ect. unfortunately. Don't worry about armors. The first thing I do when owning a new castle is equip all soldiers and civilians with custom armors. I use the duplicate spell mod and pretend i'm crafting it. Just make sure the guards don't respawn because that makes them reset.
ub3rman123
If you don't know how to use Blender and such to make new things, you can always use modder's resources. I know of a number of mods that are excellent resources. Most of Pale_Rider's things, such as the Berserker Armor and Pirates mod work very well. All of Mr_Siika's mods are very reusable, especially his Griffon Fortress mod, Castle Seaview, and the Dwarven City. MEO3000 has some excellent 'clutter' items available, such as small settlement pieces. And there are tons of armor sets and weapons out there marked as resources. If you see something like 'You can reuse this in your own mods as long as credit is given.', then you can use the meshes, just include the original author in the credits section.
