kieranfoy
Paying for mods is illegal, and not giving the details here is rude and likely to get your request ignored.
shaneray
Before i retort, how is it illegal? A CRIME? and again its personal mod, and im not paying for the mod, thats what a commission is, its paying for your time. Thanks for the advice. kieranfoy
Selling mods is illegal. Bethesda said so. You don't need to retort, only LISTEN.
shaneray
Before i retort, how is it illegal? A CRIME? and again its personal mod, and im not paying for the mod, thats what a commission is, its paying for your time. Also it is not "rude" to want to keep my personal mod to myself. You don't need the details unless you wanted to work on it with me. Once its done then It may be released. Whats rude is you coming to this post telling me what is and what isnt going to happen, if no one replies to this request, so be it I wont lose any sleep and I'll ask again another day and on another forum. However, thanks for the input and the advice on how to get my post ignored. P.S. Definition of commission: on commission, paid entirely or partially with commissions from sales one has made or for work one has done so, im not paying for oblivion content since that my be illegal, I'm paying for the modders hard time put into producing something for me. Eiries
Selling mods is illegal. Bethesda said so. You don't need to retort, only LISTEN. Providing a donation in good spirit of one's efforts is not illegal; charging somebody for a mod is. There is a difference. Shaneray, since many modders don't float around the Nexus forums too often, could you perhaps provide a reference of some type to what you wish to be done? You may be pleasantly surprised if it already has been.
shaneray
@Eiries Thank you for the much civil response. What im looking for is to make a sayjin mod, this is no way goes with the lore of oblivion but im a DBZ nut with no modding skills. I'm needing some hair models do be placed on a helmet so that when they go "super sayjin" it can replace the current hair with the super sayjin hair. I've been diggin for awhile and no dbz in oblivion :)
ub3rman123
Erm, paying for this sort of thing isn't illegal, if it doesn't involve the CS. It's only if you use the CS to make the mod is it illegal. So things made in Blender, NifSkope, 3dsMax, etc, can all be charged for. When you say you want it in game, does that mean that the wig is already made, or that you need one made?
crippknottick
This is the same concept as those that charge for shipping a disc with open source software on it (ie: Ubuntu). Thge charge is for the CD-ROM, shipping and service of making the disc and shipping it (labor). The content is still open source and free and was not charged for. That's the best example I could throw out there. But basically the mod itself is not being purchased.
