TheTrueMayhem
I was using the construction set and accidentally saved a plugin while a master file was loaded. Now it's dependent on that and I don't know how to remove it. I removed the item that I was working on at the time thinking that would fix it but it didn't. I downloaded TES4EDIT but I'm not sure how to find what in particular is referencing the master file ? Maybe it just needs the master file removing from the file header but I'm not sure how to do that either :-( I just want to remove a mod but can't now because of the dependency issue. Can anyone help ?
Hickory
Easiest way is with TES4Gecko -- Edit Master List. Select the mod and choose 'Remove'. Please be certain that you have removed all traces (items, references, scripts etc.) of the master file from your esp before you do this.
TheTrueMayhem
Thanks for the reply ! I downloaded Tes4Gecko and followed all of the instructions but I get the message 'could not create the Java virtual machine' when I try and run the shortcut. I have Vista 32 and the newest version of Java so I don't know what else to do to get it working ? Edit: I just got it working and removed the dependency and it's all good now - thanks :-)
HikariWS
What happens if TES4Gecko is used to remove a dependance and there is some object in the esp that depends on it? Please consider 2 situations: 1) The master esp adds a new object to the world and the demandant esp changes that object's position. 2) The master esp changes a oblivion.esm's object position and the dependant esp does it again. Guinefort1
Edit: I just got it working and removed the dependency and it's all good now - thanks :-)So that we're clear - it's working now? If so, then glad to hear it. Best of luck with your mods. Gecko can be a useful tool. Edited September 12, 2015 by Guinefort1
HikariWS
lol he posted that in 2010, I doubt he'll come answer, and even if he remembers if it worked for good :D I just found this thread on Google and decided to reply on it instead of creating a new one
