Steampunk Clockwork Bow

If anyone's looking for the bow's string, I was under the impression we were using Calliton's chain. I think it has a texture and everything!

I was curious about that resource and looked at the page...but there was VERY little information about what it was.

So I downloaded the file, took a screenshot and updated the description so it can be better known as to what it is and what it can and cannot be used for.

bow.blend

- No UV Map created.

- No texture supplied.

- Not rigged to anything.

- Each chain link has 768 verts, 1,536 faces.

- 13 chain links in total (9,984 verts, 19,968 faces).

If this were to be "sized" down as a drawstring for a bow, there would be a LOT more than just 13 of these links. The poly count is actually too high for something that will be so small. It might be better to just create a chainlink that is modeled with the size you intend on using...or use texture tricks by using square blocks with alpha transparency in the right places to make it look like a smooth chain...each chainlink could actually be 8 verts with 12 tri faces. A string of 100 of these cubes would only be 800 verts and 1,200 tri faces. ;)

No I didn't. The 1st line was the original description, the 2nd line is what I copied from the Short Description which cannot be seen when you are on the main page...since it had the all important licensing info, I felt it prudent to copy that into the description as well...but did not spell-check it. But I went ahead and fixed it in both places now.

EDIT: Just so you guys know, there is nothing wrong with his resource file...completely depends on how you use it. If the bow string was just going to be those 13 rings (very large) then yes, they will do quite nicely or even as decoration on other parts...but as the drawstring itself, it would be fairly large. If the chains needed to be small (about the size of a thumb, then that particular resource is not a good match. Depends completely on how you use it.
