Realistic Leveling/Bloody Mess -- Compatible?

I've been looking for a mod which makes leveling a bit less ridiculous, and Realistic Leveling looks promising. Only problem is it says it has some problems with mods which use large drain effects to change your stats.

Right now I'm using A Bloody Mess and the Bathing Mod, both of which apply penalties to your personality score if you walk around unbathed and covered in blood. I just wanted to know if there was anyone who plays with these mods all enabled together, and, if so, whether or not they'd ever run into problems.

Realistic leveling mod is great im using it for some time now and it works great.

I have the issues with skills being drain also but there is a little solution for this, if u have unofficial oblivion patch installed u can find on your inventory a menu wich u active and there is an option with "Repair broken skills/stats", 1 click and it repairs the drains instantly.

I didnt used it with bloody mess mod but i have other mods installed wich are messing with your skills and this oblivion patch tool helps to fix them, after that i didnt had any problems, its worth a try, you can allways backup your save games before you install it.

Realistic Leveling calculates your experience and level according to your skills. It does not appear to take the Skeleton Key's bonus into account in its calculations, but I could be wrong. It DOES appear to take the Night Mother's Blessing and other similar skill alterations into account. I think this feature is to keep permanent bonuses from screwing up how many total levels you can gain.

The problem is that unlike the Skeleton Key, it cannot seem to be able to tell when other temporary skill boosts are actually temporary or not. (Unless of course they have a duration, like from spells.) I first noticed just how this all seemed to work when equipping the Crusader set had strange effects on my level. I guess since the Crusader set is added by an official mod and isn't in the core Oblivion, the maker Realistic Leveling can't predict what the item/effect ID will be (since it changes according to load order), and so can't have it ignored like the Skeleton Key.

So basically, what I'm trying to say is that if any mod adds things that affect skills in ways similar to the Crusader set, Night Mother's Blessing, what's-his-name's Training, the Skeleton Key, etc, that it will make your level go up or down accordingly. Get rid of the effect and your level will eventually go back to normal... it just might take it a little while to fully adjust. So if you don't mind temporary level inflation and deflation to affect your level along with the skill modifications, then it really is not a problem. ...I'm not sure if diseases mess with it or not...

Oh... I see. That's interesting. Thanks for the explanation. The description indicated that the mod was supposed to hold the levelup screen until all long term drain effects (dunno about diseases) are off of your PC before being triggered. So I suppose the worst thing that a conflict with the bathing mod and such could do is to hold my levelup until I take a bath.

Works for me.

I have used Realistic Levelling with the Bathing Mod; it works fine. Never used Bloody Mess, but I doubt it would be a problem. I also have no issues with attribute drains from Real Hunger or Real Thirst. If you check the console, Realistic Levelling reports that it detects a large-scale drain and seems to effectively disable itself until the drain is cleared.
