retint problem

I am trying to retint the studded armor but no matter how dark I make the tint, the blue still bleeds thru. One area of the armor doesn't even look like its tetinting at all even tho the tint maps indicate it should. Is there a simple fix (meaning I'm not going to have to retexture or make new tint maps) or am I just oitta luck on this one?

You can affect armor and item tents to a little degree in toolset by changing the material type, 'grey iron' or maybe 'Old Shield, Blackened Leather' material combined with your tint may work for what you want to achieve.

*try: 'Old, Armor, Hide', it appears to dampen the blue tent...

**In fact, all the 'Armor' materials affect change in the tent, some to a great degree...

The persistent blue cast is probably from the specular DDS:

To eliminate it, desaturate the specular texture thusly (It may also need to be darkened, if the resulting in-game effect is too shiny or bright):

Credit where credit is due: Serissia's specular fix for the leather armours was a constant in my install.

Dwain thanks for the reply but I should have made it more clear I was trying to make a custom tint but but the blue kept bleeding through.

that problem has been resolved. I downloaded rak_studded armor and it fixed it.

I have another issue but I will post that in a different note. thanks to you too, sky moves.
