Arkusai
Hello, I recently rebought Oblivion on Steam now that I have a PC that can run it well. Morrowind was an all time favorite of mine due to mods, so I've spent the past few days gathering together mods. I have installed many mods, including FCOM. I have pretty much everything working well, except that during the Tutorial dungeon I am running into missing mesh exclamations at the first treasure chest, where you find the bow. I've spent hours deactivating a troubleshooting the issue, and have discovered I can have literally every .esp enable EXCEPT FCOM_Convergence.esp. this is of course a problem because I'm running both OOO and MMM. I initially had another missing mesh but I solved it by reapplying all the meshes from OOO. this one remains stubbornly, taunting me. I am using Wrye Bash and BOSS.bat to build my load order. And the ugly missing texture yellow exclamations disappear and reappear entirely based upon FCOM_convergence.esp. I'd post my load order...but I'm afraid I don't know the best way to copy it from Wrye Bash. Thanks in advance for any help. I REALLY want to play this game again now that it's rich with mods. DavidBudreck
BSA Files are compressed archives. They take the place of the meshes and texture folders typically included in mods. Theoretically these are supposed to become active when an ".esp" of exactly the same name is activated. That didn't work for me either. I also had missing meshes. You can manually "Register" your .bas files by editing the Oblivion.ini file located in your Oblivion Saved Games folder. Put it at the end of the line that starts with "SArchiveList=Oblivion - Meshes.bsa," add a comma to the end, then add mmm.bsa So, it would look like this: SArchiveList=Oblivion - Meshes.bsa, <a whole bunch of files>.bsa, mmm.bsa (or FraNewItems.bas, or whatever.bsa) You can string them together separated by commas. All of your .bas files should be registered
Arkusai
Thank you very much David! That did the trick right away! Hopefully now I can enjoy a (mostly) glitch free experience. I'm thrilled to be playing The Elder Scrolls again on my PC, because I had to buckle down and play the vastly inferior PS3 version before. You've given me a very, very good day off tomorrow ;)
