File unloading issue

Whenever I try to open or extract the exe file for a mod from winrar, or winzip, for a file. it says "you need the following volume to continue:" then it says the exact adress of where im running the file from, and it says to insert a disk that contains it. however, if i click the browse button and go to the file manually it would load a bit more, before coming up with the same message. in short, the file would get to 100% loaded/extracted, but stuck there asking me for the volume on a disk. This mod file is the only one in which i've experienced this before. other mods will extract fine. I am unsure if it's taboo to place this kind of mod material on this forum. If anyone knows how to fix thism id love the help. So if you need the url for the mod, message me.

This is not a mod issue; it is the way multi-part archives work. I believe both 7-Zip and WinRar can create these.

 

The author does this because the mod is to large to host on Nexus in one piece.

 

Whenever I have seen these used, which is rare, there are ALWAYS detailed instructions on how to unpack. Look around for them; they may be inside one or more of the Archives.

 

 

I'm sorry, but I'm not an expert on this. In the hopes that you will be able to glean something from this, I am including the instructions for a similar situation Heart of the Dead. Maybe yours will work the same way:

 

Unzip the Part 1 - Part 4 zipped files using 7z.

You should now have four files that look like this:

 

HODFullVer6.0.7z.001

HODFullVer6.0.7z.002

HODFullVer6.0.7z.003

HODFullVer6.0.7z.004

 

At this point you can either:

 

a) Double click on the file marked .001 and then "select program from the list". You then select 7zip to

open it. Then extract.

 

b) Open 7zip file manager and then go to the directory that has the four files listed above. Double click on

the .001 file to open. Then extract.

And in case you don't know what 7zip is, it's a free to use free to download compression file that a lot of people use, especially with big mods, here on the Nexus as it compresses it quite a bit further than winrar. Just google it. Quite handy, actually. Only problem with it is that not everyone knows about it. For anyone reading this, I suggest anytime you use it to include a link of where to download 7zip if you ever use it. Eventually you'll get frustrated downloaders who have no idea what it is or what google is either >_< I know I've seen that before.. a couple times I think.. Not too much more than that. Anyways, just thought it worth a mention.
