Purr4me
post your machines specs for me to inspect. you may be required to add additional support for the hard ware that is causing the game to choke. Steam is quite large when installed, and it is supposed to handle all issues. your problem lies with in steams setup.

Purr4me
ya know, I have one of those old machines in storage across town with a few others I kept, they were at one time pretty good, but over the years, wall mart and best Buy had sales, pretty much a sucker for a sale, I buy something that claims to be better.....then we find out, the adverts were not so great. I might think about digging out that old machine, just for giggles and see what it can do.i5 unit. 1.7ghz. intel and so on. it's silly to even try, but it does have an interesting score to work with. Need For speed 3 worked well on it. 2007 model too, might just be within sects? possibly. some programing may help...here? pretty much a dead end. DEATHWALKER95
this is obviously a solvable problem seeing as how this game ran just fine until i installed a mod wrong. If you think you know it all then im all ears. Also just for your information i used to own a disc copy that ran just fine 24/7 without having to do anything to make it run like I had to for steam
DEATHWALKER95
maybe i should just go back to my disc version since no body seems to be able to help with my steam issue. i bought the game for steam because i thought it would be easier to manage and the goty edition was on sale but i guess not, so since nobody knows anything about the steam version and how to fix it I will do just that. Somebody please prove me wrong
Purr4me
the only thing I can think of that might work for you is to cut off the snakes head.If you have the hard drivespace that is?what i post next is difficult to do, and I am not sure I should be posting this kind of workaround as it can be used in the wrong ways for other games... start, control panel, user accounts ,make new account, close , log of desktop, log into new account. now.....understand this. as far a s that operating system is concerned...on the new account ,you do NOT have steam installed. Got that?when you get to this point, log back off and then back on to this present one. DO not set up internt or browsers in the new account, it is to remain off line. you CAN not use NMM as a sort manager nor installer in off line mode. you need the old fomm version to use as a sort and install manager. there that covers the tool parts.....now while on this current profile, go to user, steamapps, common,fallout3, this should be the entire roots for all the files that come with the game....you understand? eep that window open. double click the MY computer icon on your desktop if you have it set to show .....go the the C"\users folder in there you will see a public folder the public folder is directly linked to all folders in the system for only the desk top so NEVER put thing in there.use only that document or down load folder for these things. in the user/public/download folder....copy all of your game files into that folder....why do all of this ? ok. this is to remove any possible mistakes of assigning permissions to files as they are being transferred from a protected archive on the system to a shared content folder .This is a free zone in windows, but can be screwed up ..so don't. once you have the entire game, structures and data files "Copied.......NOT moved" you can now log off this profile.log into the new profile and simple check to see if you do in fact have permission to even view or edit any file in there....if so, your set and ready, if not. you need to start over cuz something was done wrong. You only need to verify that you can and have authority to do as you please with the games files. your far from being done here. on that machine, you can take no chances to mess this up. so if so, then you have a brand new unaltered game sitting inhere all ready to go but...and this a big but.......you need now to set this new user account up correctly , the Environment must be set up to run graphic intensive applications. DO not rush this. the display drivers as you will see ,the desktop graphics will be very big and not yet set up, this means you need to "configure this user account so it CAN run these apps, ,and you ARE subject to SYSTEM PERMISSIONS dealing with this aspect of the operations. damm. a wall here......yo test edit a text file only. you set the view of the system so you can read all extensions , file name extensions, and not hide datait's important you understand all this, IF there is any permissible bugs laying dormant in the current steam game, there may infect be LOCKS on files.this is one way to make sure your not being lolled out of use of your own data. there will be small Gold locks on said files, these can only be un -assigned using the system. one file at a time.download and install Mod Orginiser 14 latest version. install it directly into the new user account folders, you need to create a work folder any name will do, so it is a sub folder within this new account and so being, protected from outside interferences. Total isolation.Now....once it is in stalled ,you do not need to connect to the internet...I am giving you all a gift.......an early xmas gift....your game folder should have this folder name in it's contents....(Install Info) that means that is the resource directory for both LOOT and FOMM ,as well as git hub's override. this data / information is not visible to you, but in that folder is where you must place the load order files /templates. you must mad=ke / create from scratch from gits' deposited a file you need to edit. (masterlist.yaml) location will be (C:\Users\User name\AppData\Local\LOOT\Fallout3\masterlist.yamlthat file is the container , load order list, the very same list that has always been required for Bethesda made games from these tools used.in the install info folder you make new text documents properly named.lotemplate.txtmasterlist.txtthose will be empty, you need note pad ++ to edit a four letter extent ion file, that information is to be placed with in these two files you make. NOW ,fomm will work, any version. loot and MO will work any version properly and correctly. so long as no one messes with the coding on any tools currently in circulation, this is as solid as your gonna get for sorting out your game files and getting back to gaming.....instead of chasing your tales all over the planet looking for answers. in deep dark places.....so no more need for any of that. this is obviously a solvable problem seeing as how this game ran just fine until i installed a mod wrong. If you think you know it all then im all ears. Also just for your information i used to own a disc copy that ran just fine 24/7 without having to do anything to make it run like I had to for steamNot gonna take this any other way, but it had Bite to it if you know what I mean ,...I bite back so don't be fooled.Kitty B.
