Deleted1848331User
Mmmk, so I used the glasses from a mod that someone wanted converted, and I got it done, but now they won't appear ingame. All the textures are game textures, and they have _n (obviously) Anyone know why they won't appear?
DavidBudreck
You need to be a little more specific. What does "Mmmk" mean? Please explain what you did that does not seem to be working. Have you installed the most recent patch?
Deleted1848331User
Yes, I have the most recent patch, "Mmmk" is just how I started the sentence lol. Anyways, I downloaded a mod, look in here for the mod. The _N files are all there, I deleted a branch for the hat in nif scope and left the glasses there in NifScope. Do I need to do something other than that?
DavidBudreck
I apologize if this sounds basic, but did you do a "Save As..."? There is no "Save" in Nifscope, and it does not prompt you to save changes when you exit. Also, there are more than a dozen versions of the hat; did you do the one you intended? And yes, there may be one other thing you need to do. This model comes with hair, and in the .esp file the item probably has the Hair Slot selected (I did not look at the ESP, just the archive and meshes). This will replace the character's regular hair with the hair in this mesh, which is probably not desirable. Also make sure you delete the hair, and then change the slot in the .esp file to Amulet, Ring, or Tail. Tail is usually preferred in these cases, although not always. Best case would be to make two versions, one that uses the Amulet Slot, the other that uses the Tail Slot, and let the gamer decide which he wants to use. I would suggest Save As... to a different name entirely, then create two new items in the CS that point to your custom meshes. Also, if you had the CS open, the object will not appear any different until you exit and then reopen it. EDIT I'm sorry, I didn't actually read the other post first befor answering you, I just followed the links. If you have already set this to an Amulet slot, it may be as simple as the clothing or armor your character is wearing hids amulets. That is a common problem when using amulets for things other than amulets, and why there are mods that are specifically for making all amulets (and rings) visible. Deleted1848331User
Well, I used tail slot, and deleted everything but the glasses, and put the glasses on ingame, but it still is hidden with tail. And I'm AlienSlofs Xixavilli. I changed race ingame too to an imperial. Still nothing. Still need help. ANy other things to think of? I did save it too. And I used the same glasses model for all of them, since they are the same on the hats I tested.
DavidBudreck
The only other thing I could think of having to do with the mesh is to change the number of children from five to two, and update the array. I have never needed to do that when snipping other things, but I've never snipped anything so drastically. However, I'm guessing it does not have anything to do with the mesh; that part just isn't that complicated. I'm guessing it has do do with the implementation in the CS/ESP. Lots more things could go wrong there. Try creating a new item from scratch, then adding your custom mesh, set it to Amulet instead of tail. I know that NPC's won't wear stuff that's set to the tail slot and maybe the custom race won't either. When you changed race in game, maybe you need to save & reload for it to fully take. Make sure you take off your shirt when trying them on, just to be sure they aren't being hidden.
Deleted1848331User
I didnt make the model. Someone else did as part of their mod. Someone requested it be converted into glasses only. Maybe you could do the thing with the meshes? Or give better instructions.... lol.
DavidBudreck
Sorry, by "create a new item from scratch" I meant a new piece of clothing in the CS, not a new mesh. You think I'm going to try to do this after all the trouble you're having? lol
Deleted1848331User
Lmao, so true. Anyways, I did make the items in the CS from scratch.... I don't feel like doing it again... lol.
