Pronam
I'd lend you my program (premiere elements) but it's written in my language :(. The free programs have the trouble that you can't directly upload them to youtube as their formats aren't well converted and you need some like anyvideoconverter as you had shown.Youtube does a lot of strange things with your content in general though, its usually just testing out what's best. I usually ended up with custom avi with mpeg4.//There's also expression enocoder which has a free version. I've just tried uploading something on youtube and they seem to turn out well enough on .wmv and maxed settings. The editor allows a bit more than the usual ones too and it's no trial/watermark version. Vagrant0
If .mp4 is working then might be best to stick with that. It's not that it's working, it just appears to be less crappy than others. The video. It still has some places where things get blurred.
JimboUK
It might just be a case of fiddling about until you find what works best for you, if the video is fine locally but goes wrong on Youtube I'm not sure what to suggest. Pronam is right, Youtube does weird things to videos anyway. I had a look around to see if I could find an alternative to Movie Maker and found a thing called Wax, I had a little play with it and managed to join two clips together, it also output as Xvid which didn't look too bad. It will use whatever encoders you have installed. It does transitions but I couldn't figure how to get them to work, there is a users guide and a few tutorials on Youtube which may shed some light on things. It wasn't exactly the most intuitive program I've used.
