falloutperson416
In my opinion.... who the hell cares? I am happy to be a lone wanderer, and if the apacolypse happened, a lone wanderer I would be. I would join the BOS... no doubt. But, still. I would be my own boss. That doesn't mean I would rain terror on the Wasteland though.
Johssy
Yeah, I'd like to be taken in the ranks of BoS, sure. Train with a group of newbies, Brothers in Arms style, then go out on missions (read; guard duty  ) and maybe have the choice of joining BoSO somewhere down the road. That'd be cool. Wait, isn't there a mod that lets you do that? Alternate Starts or something? Just sayin'.
mooncarver
to become a raider you'll not only have to give up every bit of morality but become quite messed up in the head as well. this have to come naturally and right now I don't quite see myself torturing innocents.same with the talon company. they are probably not that messed up, but still extremely cruel and vicious. I don't think I'm capable of that, not even in the face of post apocalypse.dito slavers.if somehow I'd be exposed to a dna altering virus which transforms me into a completely different beeing, lusting for bloodshed and violence, well.. I wouldn't have much choice but to cause bloodshed and violence, right? to be honest, I wouldn't appreciate that as well =)I rather see myself beeing part of a settlement. just some random settler, who is trying to contribute in a struggling community to the best of his abilities. yeah, quite the boring answer, I know =)
evilneko
This is why there are alternate start mods. ;) The kind of alternate start I'd want--and the concept I use to explain the changes my first character went through--is that of a random (or even chosen) person inheriting the Lone Wanderer title and identity at the death of the previous one. I'd still be the Lone Wanderer, but my background would be my own.
Rossum
Me? Hmm... if I had the ability to start up in the Capital Wasteland I suspect I would probably want to be a merchant of sort... or a slaver. Or a slaver/regulator/merchant. Basically, I'd be like a regulator in that I track down criminals (like all those raider who are all over the place), a slaver in that instead of killing everyone I just maim them and slap an explosive collar on them, and a merchant in that I can sell all of their stuff for high prices (including selling them into slavery). Short answer, I think I'd start off as a merchant at first because they don't require all of their personnel to be total pricks and then break into the slaver business by enslaving anyone who tried attacking my caravan. Go my rounds stopping off at trading spots, knock out any troublemakers who attack me, sell their stuff, stop by Paradise Falls when I make it there and sell off my slaves. Maybe make friends with the various lawmen in Megaton, Tenpenny, or Rivet City (and maybe the regulators if I ever see them). I could just hire more guards to keep track of my stuff and make money through a three-way policy of enslaving raiders, buying and selling, and taking out hits on criminals who cause trouble (though I won't be stupid like the Talon Company). Set up a decent slaving ring that only captures evil people like Raiders and turn it into a sort of prison system. That way, instead of killing people, justice can be served in a twisted sort of way... any ultraviolent dogs who don't want to pay off their debt to society get shot while those willing to work as slaves get to stay alive. Though if I'm limited to working with an existing faction and slave dealing would get in the way of my good reputation... I'd probably try to stick with Merchants since then I could make deals with the other factions as necessary. Trade between the Brotherhood of Steel, Outcasts, and the various other settlements would provide plenty of help for the Capital Wasteland. Plus, once the water starts I'd just add Aqua Pura to my inventory and get some extra guards.
BlackSampleAdmin
starting mod? were can i get those? being a vault dweller sucks so the first thing i would do is become a slaver and kill eulogy and take his place as the leader then enslave every one in rivet city/megaton/bigtown and travel around and make my own city place my people there and have super mutants as my gaurds XD and i would sometimes feed them people 100% lucas simms is first.
SpacemanSpIiff
I would, like most people, want to be in the brotherhood of steel. But since in this game (and likely most everywhere else) they don't just take walk ins. I'd play exactly how I play my character in Fallout. Id be a weapons scavenger and repair expert. I'd explore the wastes finding (and taking guns off those who would use them for unjust causes) and fix them up, both to collect and sell them to merchants and people in need.
