Littlebro96
Okay, i'm kinda new to modding, maybe im not just installing them right, but so far I have installed the Alluring Potions Mod and the Barrett Mod. I go in game and both of them do not work. I took the extracted files and put them in the oblivion data files, checked the .esp box for each mod under the data files area in the launcher, but they still don't work. Am I not doing something correctly, I use 7-Zip to extract them.
Valkyrie
Try downloading OBMM. Install as directed, run it, then have a read here: My link
Littlebro96
What does OBMM do, because it looks like a real pain to get working.
bben46
OBMM is a mod manager and is extremely easy to get to work - It is NOT a mod and does not install like a mod so read the directions first.  Although My first guess is your problem is Windows UAC - a 'feature' of windows Vist and Win7 (It does not exist in WinXP) that protects any program that is installed in either the 'program files' or 'Program files (x86)' folders. It does not affect the bare game at all, only mods. The symptom is every indication is you have installed a mod properly, you have checked it in the data list and it still does not show up in the game. As Oblivion was designed for WinXP it does not take UAC into account - so the default installs in those protected places. It works fine in XP, but causes problems in Vista and Win7. Best solution, reinstall the game outside of the UAC protected folders. Recommended place is C:\Games\Oblivion or if you have the steam version, reinstall steam into C:\Games\Steam then reinstall Oblivion there using the steam installation. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. Littlebro96
So if I just wanted to uninstall the game and keep my saves all I would have to do is copy my save data from the saves folder and once its re-installed put those saves back in the new saves folder right? bben46
Yes, however if any of your problems are mod related they will just be back. First test without mods.

LFact
Another possibilty wasn't mentioned here is, your game version. Make sure your game version is 1.2.x.
