Wrye bash won't start.

Recommended Posts

I noticed that wrye bash didn't launch when I clicked the launcer, so I download python and wrye bash again. I installed them, but wrye bash still didn't launch. I reinstalled python and it didn't work. Why isn't wrye bash launching?

Weirdly, python (command line) works. The components of wrye bash are in my directory.

Wrye Bash actually needs several pieces of Python, not just the basic Python install. Wrye has made a package specifically for this reason; it installs 4 or 5 different things back-to-back-to-back.

If you only installed Python, then this is your problem. If you DID use his installer, make sure everything is in it's expected location. You should be using the "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw" which should be located in \\Oblivion\Mopy.

This always works for me, but not as described. Don't worry about generating the bug dump and figuring it out and troubleshooting the scripting and all that.

When I put exactly what they suggest into the command line, it simply loads the program. Just make sure the directories are correct. You may have installed the game to a different location than the person writing the tutorial.

You might also want to right click on the bash shortcut, select Properties, and enter this text into the Target:

c:\python25\python.exe bash.py -d assuming that's where you installed Python 25, which it should be if you followed the instructions correctly as you say.

Also make sure the Start In field has this entered in it:

"C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy" with quotes, not without, and make sure the location matches your install location. (Like not in Program Files, right?)

Good luck.
