poda05
I am also having a screenshot problem. I've correctly edited the .ini, and the game does create BMP images when I tell it to, however, these image files cannot be opened by any program. Paint.net, Photoshop, and Paint all say "there was a problem opening the file" or something similar, and the Windows photo viewing programs just display them as all white. I haven't been able to find anything regarding this issue. I've read that there are problems with more modern operating systems (I'm using Windows 7 64-bit), but I don't appear to be having the problems I've read about involving UAC. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
JoeMamma43
yea the same happens to me but i managed to open it with picture viewer but like i said it was slanted and black and white. I also have windows 7 and i cant find any info either it realy sucks because im pretty good at taking screenshots
poda05
I forgot that Wrye Bash can manage screenshots, so when I finally previewed them with Wrye Bash, the images are black and white, slanted, and a bit tinted green. Converting them to JPG just gets rid of the green tint. I can't find anything about BMPs acting like this. I didn't want to install a third party programs just to take screenshots because that just seems ridiculous, but that's probably what we'll have to do. =/
MadMike710
I also have a problem with taking screenshots.I edited the .ini and saved it to my Oblivion directory but when I press the button to take screenshots, nothing happens.I checked the folder and nothing.Using Windows 7. Any help?
poda05
@MadMike710 I read somewhere that if the screen shots files aren't even being created, it's a UAC problem. Try turning UAC off (if you just type "UAC" into the start search bar to find it easier), then restart your computer. Try taking screenshots then. Thanks but it didn't work.I think that it isn't functioning at all, like when I press my screenshot button nothing happens, isn't a message supposed to show when it works? It's like I didn't even change the .ini file (but I did).
lobo1010
hope this helpsremember to modify the .ini file in documents/my games/oblivion not the ini in the program files/bethesda/oblivionturn off the game Anti Aliasing, if you want anti aliasing just use hardware AA (configure it in your grafic card management tool/driver)and for the black and white problem maybe the AA solution will fixitFor some strange reason oblivion tends to do weird things when software Anti Alias is active
BlackerrR
Turning Anti-Aliasing in Oblivion and allowing Screenshots in oblivion.ini doesn't work. You must choose one. But you can download Fraps and take screenshots with Fraps, if you have AA turned on, ofcourse.
