Itachi314
Hello, this is my third installment of answer the noob. Anyhow, i have a few questions that are quite important..... too me. 1. Right now my Battlehorn castle sanctuary mod (unfinished) has overridden the official file because if i made it into my own .esp it wouldnt show up, is there anyway i can seperate the two while the mod still works. 2. In the Construction Set i place an Npc it shows up, however when i load the mod theres a whole bunch of nothing where the npc should be, i searched through the tutorial pages and couldnt find anything, if someone could post a link or better yet save me the trouble and simply tell me without an attitude, that would be great. 3. The last question is a little different once i figure out how to give other people the mod without getting sued by bethesda, i need to find some people too help me with a new quest chain, i have many of the quests in mind, also a texturer because the only texturing i can do is completely blot out the dds with a paint brush (thats if i even find the file im looking for NO HATERS i know im a noob and my stupidity hurts however bear with it and answer my questions seriously or leave
Dyshein
NPCs sometimes don't show up unless you reload a mod or cell. For example, if i have a save in a dungeon I made and place and NPC there and then load up the save, the NPC will not appear. I would have to load a save outside of the dungeon or perhaps even a save made before you interacted with the mod. This may be your issue, worth looking into at least. And what do you mean by overridding the offical plugin?
Itachi314
And what do you mean by overridding the offical plugin? i had to set the official Battlehorn Castle DLC to active and overwrite the file itself, if i had made it a seperate .esp file it wouldnt show up..... at all
Dyshein
If it's an ESP file, you can't separate it. You can only separate files from ESM because ESM files never change themselves, they are only changed by proxy through ESP files. Why can't you just re-download or reinstall the original plugin and just rename the changed one to yours?
Itachi314
one last question and i think i got the rest. Do esms affect anything in game ?
albonaut
What do you mean on #3 that you have a quest in mind and whatnot but you want to share it with people without getting sued? Does this quest require a specific DLC or something, or what makes you feel Betheseda will want to sue you for sharing it?

Well first off im trying to get my mod too work without giving people battlehorn castle (im pretty sure its illegal redistribution), second i need someone too help with making quest chains as im not familiar with it. LHammonds
Yes, editing a DLC plugin and uploading it is a no-no. #1 - I makes all other DLC modifications.#2 - It effectively uploads the DLC mod which allows people to play it without having to pay for it...although they would need to obtain the meshes and textures to work properly....but still...it is uploading a DLC without requiring it to be installed. Solution: Mod De-Isolation It is not a pretty solution but it does allow the means to create a modification to a DLC plugin in a legal way.
