Lotus97
There's Dragonborn and Hearthfire folders in my scripts folders even though I didn't purchase these DLCs. Is this normal? I'm having instability issues so I'm checking every thing I can think of. None of the DLC master files are in my skyrim folder so I didn't accidentally receive them such as what happened to a bunch of people getting Dawnguard. bben46
If the masters are not there, the game will crash whenever it attempts to use something from the DLC - this is not a bug, it's the way computers work. Be sure you are not using any mods that require the DLCs you don't have. I am not positive, but It is possible that installing Dawnguard places these folders as a placeholder for stuff in the Dawnguard DLC that can be used in one of the other DLCs also. For example there is an encounter with a certain Dadera in Dawnguard that is referenced when you encounter that same Daedra in Dragonborn - He remembers you if you had that encounter. And Bethsoft likely used some of the same scripts in both DLCs.
IsharaMeradin
When you install the Creation Kit, whether or not you have the DLC, it will download the source scripts (PSC files) only. The game does not use them. You can safely delete the DLC source folders if you wish. Just know that they will be re-obtained the next time you "verify the game cache" for the Creation Kit. Lotus97
Thanks for the responses. I'm using Mod Organizer which uses a virtual filing system that doesn't place mods in the Skyrim data folder so it seems like maybe it is due to installing the creation kit. I guess if the game doesn't use the scripts there's no harm having them there.
