if I export the major mods I'm working on builder to builder then uninstall the database then reinstall it with just the mods I want to keep, will I be okay? I have a boat load of junk in it that I want to get rid of.

I wouldn't go that way if you have things that you want to save. Theoretically the B2B would be fine, but .....

Why not just delete the files that you don't want? The module 'stays', but you can always rename/reuse it later or just let the empty module 'sit there'.

I hadn't thought of that. I had to start one of my mods completely over (cry) because I messed it up to the point I can't tell where I went wrong and want to start over fresh. but the thing is I still want to keep my same naming pattern and my script, item, creature, etc names where used in the other one. if I had known it was way more difficult to mod the oc, I never would have started. lol standalones are a lot easier.

Modding the OC is very easy - IF you do not make changes to Core game resources.

If you haven't changed any Core resources, just delete or rename the individual files. If you right click on a file name, you can see 'properties'. Under the properties, you can see which files a resource references and which it is referenced by. You have to delete all of the files that reference/referenced by before you can delete the file itself. Or you may be able to figure out where you went wrong.
