perk screen freeze issue

Hey guys, I've been having some troubles with my game and I really need some help with this one.

 

Thing is, When I level up, as soon as I press "done" on the perks screen after selecting my preferred perk, the game simply freezes and refuses to work.

It's in the transition between level 53 and 54 (I'm capped at 100), and I've tried removing all perk-related mods I have, to no avail. it still freezes when only using vanilla perks.

Have you tried a merge patch?

betting its related to a leveling mod

 

or you NEED to include a level cap increasing mod that won't lock-up when everything is already at 100

I think I'll try to remove a few perks and see what happens.

nope, none of it changed anything. merge patch didn't help, I don't have any mods that adjust how I level up, disabling the level cap mod and simply using "setgs imaxcharacterlevel 100" didn't do anything, nor did removing perks...

 

This is so frustrating.
