Why in God's name does this require a complete download of the latest version of DX9 just to run? I'm sorry, but that's poor programming. It'd be easier to just bundle the program with what's likely the few drivers needed.

If you are like many and do not have broadband, forget all about this program. The program itself may be small, but you need to download a massive redistributable pack just to use it.

It's a good program, makes Morrowind look absolutely BEAUTIFUL, but come on Timeslip/Liztail.

Ok I know this thread is old but I'm gonna post anyway. I've got a pretty decent system:

e8400 core2 duo

2 gigs ocz ram

Nvidia 9800 GX2

This machine plays everything I throw at it at high res and full settings. For some reason I'm getting LOW fps with MGE, like 5-8 frames in most open areas of Morrowind. In Seyda Neen I'm getting 15 fps tops. This can't be right. I have even set to low settings and though I get slight improvements in FPS it's still not playable.

downloading it right now, hope works. Looks incredible, most impresive. For those people with beast computers that are getting lag, its not the computer. It can be the program or the game engine. I myself get dow to 30 fps rearly and I have 3.0 dualcore (6.0) 4 gig ram and ATI radeon HD 4870 :D, while this sometimes lags UT2007 never does on max everything hmm....

Again very nice job, well done!

Well after trying 3 versions, following every instructions, it doesn't even start when I click on the exe, nothing happens. It doesn't even try to open.

It does look like very nice work...for you people out there, that it actually works for ! ;p

I just did a fresh Morrowind + expansions installation, with some mods. When I run MGEgui.exe , I get a generic Windows crash screen with the following info:

Description:

Stopped working

Problem signature:

Problem Event Name: CLR20r3

Problem Signature 01: mgegui.exe

Problem Signature 02: 3.7.0.0

Problem Signature 03: 4944bbd9

Problem Signature 04: MGEgui

Problem Signature 05: 3.7.0.0

Problem Signature 06: 4944bbd9

Problem Signature 07: ac

Problem Signature 08: 6

Problem Signature 09: System.TypeInitialization

OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.6

Locale ID: 1046

Call stack:

> MGEgui.exe!MGEgui.DirectX.DXMain.GetDeviceCaps() + 0x55 bytes

MGEgui.exe!MGEgui.Statics.Main(string[] sargs) + 0x2eb bytes

And if I run Morrowind.exe, the following popup msg:

2

Could not open mge settings file.

blablabla.

Try running mgegui.exe to recreate the save files.

I'm running windows vista 64, geforce 8800M GTS. I first tried manual install of 3.7.0 and later the installer of 3.3.2.

What could be wrong?

I have a GeForce 8600 1GB and 1GB of RAM. I don't know about the processor - assume not good. Will my PC run Morrowind with this mod?

PS - I'm asking instead of finding out for myself because if it will run, I will reinstall Morrowind, download a lot more mods, and start playing again. I want to know if it will work.

I've installed this on the russian Bloodmoon from 1C and coudn't get it working. After I removed MGE, the pixel shader water still haven't working for me, even after I did a full reinstall of the game. What has happened to my game?

UPD: Sorry, I'm an idiot. Didn't notice the disabled option in the settings.
