How Do You Unpack an OMOD to Get to the .esp?

I really don't know anything about OMODs because the mods I use generally don't come in OMODs. The mod I am going to be working comes in this huge OMOD file. I did this huge 8-hour download twice on two separate evenings and nights. Both times the file was corrupted and the checksum was not right. I really don't have time to try to download it again. I do not know if the file is bad and nobody can download it or if something went wrong in the download process twice. OBMM does not seem like it can see my downloaded file, but I don't know if I am using it right. It can see all my .esps that are in the Data directory, it just can't see this OMOD in the data directory. I don't know if it can't see it because I have to perform some action, or if it can't see it because it is corrupted.

 

How do I go about unpacking an OMOD so I can get to the .esp to see if it is damaged?

I have had OBMM for quite awhile. I use it as a gateway to start my game and as a tool to adjust my load order. (The conflict detector can be useful too if the results are taken with a grain of salt.) I just never have any OMODs to play on it.

 

Nothing happens when I try to drag and drop the OMOD from File Manager to OBMM. It does not register in the left window, so I can't possibly drag and drop it from there.

I don't use file manager; I open folders, so I don't know if that would have anything to do with it.

 

Now, depending on how big the OMOD is, it can take a while. It can take a REALLY LONG while if the OMOD is big.

 

I have done this then walked away, come back, walked away again, then eventually it opens.

In the meantime it does appear as if nothing is happening.

 

You will be able to see the Application in the Task Manager as it is thinking about opening...

 

 

The OMOD will appear in the central area.

 

Then, when you tell it to extract, you may be walking away again...
