Lots of crashes

I reinstalled Oblivion on my new pc and installed mods. The game was working great untill today, I suddenly have lots of crashes.

Mods I installed today:

- Black horse courier expanded

- Hemingway capes

- Tantrivaylia

- Get up animation replacer

- Alluring potions bottles

- LOD replacement omod

 

I deactivated those in OBMM but I still have crashes. Especially in the IC waterfront and market district.

You havent gone over the mod limit so ... try removing the mods you installed recently ... disabling them doesnt really work- its usually best to just remove them then try one by one .... (this is just a simple suggestion) i havent used these mods so i dont know about the load order .. but i do this when i have problems like this .. and it works for me :thumbsup: hope i helped .. good luck :happy:

If over the mod limit, the game simply refuses to load. That happend to me. If it does load, but then crashes a lot, then you may be close to the limit, but not over.

 

I have noticed that the waterfront is especially prone to slowdowns and crashes; there is a lot going on object-wise down there, at least, there is after all these mods are installed!

 

I would start with the LOD replacement, try disabling that and see if it has any effect.

 

I have downloaded Tantrivaylia, but have not taken a look at it yet, but from what I remember of it, this mod also puts stuff around the IC; try that one next.

Yes, sorry, that is what I meant, except for the LOD thing. You need to actually uninstall that because it puts stuff into your data folder. Simply disabling the mod will probably not have any effect.

I deleted the files like the readme says, now I have purple land in the distant :P and my game still crashes near the market district and the waterfront.

 

I wanna try and disable better cities (all omods including UL comp patches) but then my game won't even start up.

Is it possible my bashed patch is wrong or so?

If you deleted something, and there's purple textures, then you missed something. You can do one of two things, either reinstall and hope this wasn't the problem, or go to the download, examine it very carefully, and delete ALL the corresponding files from all corresponding folders. This is definitely a pain. OBMM is supposed to make this easy.

 

If your game won't start, then you have not finished uninstalling. When the game won't start like that, something is still pointing to a Master File that isn't there. Master files end with ESM instead of ESP. Run the conflict detector from OBMM, this should help. Wrye Bash also has a similar function.

 

And yes, after removing BC, you should rebuild your Bashed Patch.

I managed to disable better cities (2 esp's were still active) and it seemed to work better, but when I fast travelled to the waterfront the game crashed again ...

I installed some other LOD textures (lower size), so the purple is gone :P

This exactly describes what happened to me when I had Qarl's Textures installed.

 

I even upgraded my PC, but it isn't about hardware; it's about the game engine.

 

If you have Qarl's Textures installed, temporarily move or rename your ArchiveInvalidation.txt or ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa files. This will force the game to use vanilla textures. With me, the game popped right back to it's normal level of instability.

 

Then you can begin the Laborious process of removing Qarl's Textures.

Well I just uninstalled the entire game and gonna start from scratch
