Gauntlets as weapons?

Is it possible to turn all gauntlets into weapons, assign them damage based on quality, and allow them to be enchanted with on strike? Could all this be done while keeping the armor rating on gauntlets as well? Google showed me a mod that ADDED gauntlets and claw weapons, but I didn't see any with the old gauntlets simply turned INTO weapons, which is what I wanted.

 

In a similar but not quite related question, are there any mods that add more clothing for the hands, AKA real gloves, rather than gauntlets?

That's sort of what I want, and I'll probably try it out if I can't find anything closer. Either way, the suggestion is much appreciated. :)

 

I really don't want the gauntlets themselves changed at all, I just want melee damage added to regular gauntlets. Keep in mind that I know little to nothing about Oblivion modding, but in my mind the steps are as follows:

1: Change type of all gauntlets to weapon (keeping their armor rating is preferable, but I kind of imagine that it's impossible to give a weapon an armor rating)

2: Assign gauntlets damage based on hand to hand skill as well as quality.

3: If changing them to weapons wouldn't already allow it, allow on strike enchantments to be enchanted onto gauntlets.

I'm afraid you can't make a new weapon type, so making them have H2H damage isn't possible.
