Elsweyr

Each of the three parts has a folder inside called "Data"

Right-Click on one of them and select copy.

Locate you oblivion Main installation folder, but do not open it. Instead, right-click on it and select Paste.

Windows will ask you if you want to proceed; the language is slightly different depending on which version of Windows.

Say yes. They will not destory anything and you will not lose anything.

Repead this process for each of the three parts, any patches she has released, and the update.

Open the Oblivion Launcher, select Data Files, and put a check next to ElsweyrAnequina.esp

I meant the folder that has Oblivion.exe inside it. Let's call that the "Oblivion Folder".

It is just easier if you copy the "Data" Folder from the download, then click on (but don't open) the "Oblivion Folder", then Paste.

If you click on the "Data" folder inside the "Oblivion Folder", and then paste, you'll end up with a "Data" Folder inside a "Data" folder, which is what I was trying to avoid. I'm sorry I wasn't more clear.

Yeah, you have nothing to worry about because the files inside the Data folder from the mod do not contain anything that is already inside the Data folder on your computer.

In other words:

Let's say the mod's Data folder has three folders inside of it, Meshes, Textures, and Sounds.

Well, those are already in the Data folder on your computer, true, but open each one up. For instance, open the Meshes folder from the mod and you'll see folders with names like Elsweyr. Look in the Meshes folder on your computer and you'll not see that same folder. So even though Data and Meshes are overwritten, all that is actually happening is new folders are being added.

Don't ever be afraid to overwrite folders. All that does is merge or add new things. It's not the folders you should be afraid of losing, it's the files. Just to be clear (and I apologize if you know this already, I'm only trying to be helpful), files and folders are two different things. Data is a Folder. Elsweyr.esp is a file. Meshes is a folder. Oblivion.exe is a file. Just to be clear, and I'm only trying to help, remember.

If you are copying these folders from the Elsweyr mod to your computer and you run across a message that asks if you want to overwrite a file, that is something that might be bad. This probably doesn't happen with this mod, but it might. If it does, don't worry.

All it means is, a previous mod installed files with the same name, such as giantspider.nif or something. This is just an example. If this happens, all objects in game that reference that file will change. If you don't want to lose the old version of something, but want to see the new version, make a folder called Backup Meshes inside your Data folder, and copy any files that might be overwritten into this folder before moving forward with the mod. You'll have to remember where they were before, so you might want to duplicate their exact folder path inside your backup folder.

I don't think this will happen with Elsweyr. I think all the files for this mod are in their own folders, like so: Data/Meshes/Anequina/pyramid.nif or something like that. No other mod will use that exact path, so no files will be overwritten when you install this mod. Other mods, I can't promise anything. Be careful.

I recommend you click around inside your Data folder and familiarize yourself with how Oblivion stores files. Know where things are, so if you download a mod that tries to replace something, you'll know what's going on.

Good luck.

You can also download OBMM and get OMOD formatted mods. These make all this overwriting business moot.
