Viewing and Exporting .TGA Files

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to save a UV map from Blender to edit later in GIMP. Apparently Blender only saves such things in .tga format, which seems to be so alien that nothing else can open it. I need a way to export a .tga file to.. any other format that GIMP or Irfanview can handle. Or at least get Blender to save it in a more standard format.

Things I've tried so far:

GIMP: Blank screen

Irfanview: Not a compatible format

ALSee: Blank screen

ConvertShots: Says it's converted, but doesn't do anything.

Well, in the end I just ended up taking the low-tech route, imported it to NifSkope, then took a screenshot. After some fiddling, I suppose it worked.

Dunno about the versions, I just downloaded the version on TESNexus.

Well I just downloaded a Converter File that Converts .TGA files to the More popular formats like JPEG, BMP etc and its located here:

http://www.converthub.com/tgatojpg.php

Its free to download and only 1.30 MB download.

I just tryed it out and it converted a JPEG file to TGA and then back again to JPEG

No troubles!

If thats what your looking of

It happened to me too, first time I tried saving a uvmap in (I think) 2.48. What I did was I unwrapped it again, it worked! The funny thing was, it never happened again, ever. (Or maybe because I updated)
