rez194
I have CD-ROM Oblivion, newest patch, NO Shivering Isles expansion is installed, and I'm running OBSE, OBMM, WryeBash, and I run a lot of mods but I'm not gonna post the load order because I've condensed them into OMODs for easier handling. Just know that I know well enough that the existence and load order of my other mods isn't causing my problem, nor is it that I'm running 64-bit Vista. That being said, this particular mod seems to be lacking meshes. The doors are missing, torches carried by archer guards are missing, and a few other unidentifiable objects are missing, all replaced by big purple and yellow exclamation signs. I've looked through the BSA and other such files, and have confirmed that there are no such meshes. I've looked through the forum and found no mention of this problem. My first inclination was to download the BananaSplit's Better Cities resources, both A and B, but the Open Better Cities readme specifically says that Better Cities is not required. So I suppose my question is: Do I need to download those resources as well? Thank you in advance for any responses.
rez194
Another thing, BananaSplit's Better Cities says I need to install Shivering Isles, but Open Better Cities says no such thing.
rez194
Upon further investigation... It appears that the things that are missing meshes (i.e. city doors, and archer guards), seem to be directly linked to some in-game toggle-able options. I don't know how this might help solve the problem, but there you have it.

I wandered around my fragmented world and found a bathhouse in Chorrol, where I learned that it is much more than city doors and guard-equipped torches. Signs, walls, floors, just about everything was missing. Frustration ensues...

hippykiller
I seem to be having the same problem as you... Sorry I am unable to lend any assistance. You seem to know far more about modding then I. If you are able to fix this issue please post the fix here. I would love to use this mod because it highly improves the city visuals but trying to use it in the state it is in is almost impossible.

I used omm to create an omod and all of the meshes seem to be working now.... If you manually moved the files to the data folder and used omm to unauthentic-ate this may be your issue... rez194
No, I used Oblivion Mod Manager as well. Did you download only the files from Open Better Cities? And do you have Shivering Isles installed?
