Premium Membership

Hello nexus,

Well here is some feedback to the nexus and the premium experience.

 

I have tried the Premium membership for 1 month to see what it was like. (I currently have just over 1 day left)

 

Well here it is:

 

Well about the download speed I saw about a 10kb's increase to my download speed, but this is to no fault of the nexus. I have really slow internet speeds and can get a maximum of 170kb's (Terrible I know but better than nothing, Max internet I can get in area is 2MB broadband =[ ). So I was downloading at max speed basically, which is nice when downloading the bigger mods, but no different when downloading the average 10MB file. Although when I logged on at a friends house who lives in a different area and immedietely saw a huge improvement when downloading mods. So I can say that is absolutely great.

 

I use the messaging system quite a bit, so when it was full it was a pain to delete the messages after a while, but since becoming premium I am yet to reach a full box, so that is great.

 

The nice little touch of "Premium" in my name tag when on the nexus is a really nice touch also. It shows that people like me have contributed into keeping the nexus up and running.

 

With the No advertising bit I was very impressed with this. As beforehand I was getting quite annoyed with the ads that played music or any type of sound. Like that Runes of Magic (I think that was the name) Yeah that was annoying. But now all advertising has stopped. Except for those 2 in the top right (If theyre meant to be there) But it is a very nice improvement to before so thanks for that!

 

For me my favourite part of being a premium member was the Full Download History and the Notifications.

This was absolutely great because I couldn't remember all the mods I downloaded and forgot to endorse them. Now I got to endorse them after all this time. To show my support to all the modders that helped improve my experience in my game before I started modding myself. The notifications were a bit slow at times but still perfect for times I had no idea I had a comment. To find out if I had comments on my mod I had to always check by managing my mod and looking at the last comment posted on them (Which was very daunting) so yeah thanks for that one too.

 

I never really bothered with image share because all I did was upload an image and didn't really care where it went (But that was just me) I can see the benefits of using it but I never really wanted to or do want to put pictures of nudity up =P

Same goes for the result preferences, I know I can change it but I'm used to this way and want to keep it that way.

 

Comment control was a big no no for me. I believe people have the freedom to express their views about a mod (Without flaming, trolling or just being a muppet) If someone has critisism I want them to say it and let other people to see it if they agree with or disagree with it. Sure if someone puts something against the rules I or someone looking at the time will report them for it. So I didn't see a use for it for me.

 

Now the decision I have now is whether or not I want to carry on being a Premium member.

Download speeds are not an incentive for me but the capacity and more freedom is very very encouraging.

So yeah.

 

Reply me your views on whether or not you think it's worth it FOR ME.

Price is no issue, I think they are quite good and they help maintain this amazing community!

 

Also fellow premium members I especially want you to reply also =)

I just wonder why I didn't get the Supporter rank after premium expired. Guess I'll have to save up again and get premium. Seemed like a better deal at the time to pay a dollar more and get a month of premium plus lifetime supporter.

Have you contacted admin about this?

 

Also why not get it again if you liked it that much it's only like £2.50 which is like $4 for you I think or close anyway. =)

well i'm not famlliar with any mod creation,so the only thing i can do to contribute to this community is by becoming a premium member.

But since it stopped I really haven't seen any difference now...

Except that I'm NOT a supporter member for some reason?
