buddah
Hello all. If I could have a minute of your time, please. As the title says I am teaching myself to texture and would like to bother you a little and ask if anything like this would be of interest. http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/InNifskope.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/testing.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/lastteaser.png http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/Oblivion2010-08-2221-45-18-46.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/Oblivion2010-08-2221-12-13-84.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/Oblivion2010-08-2018-34-56-28.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/Oblivion2010-08-2018-17-57-02.jpg Weapons and Armor/Armour have been to death....So I am going in another direction entirely. Most of the textures if not all of them are original and created by my humble self. Give it to me straight, am I wasting my time and yours; Or is there something of value here. ub3rman123
What did you make the base textures from? Just in my opinion, it looks too bright. Real colors are a bit more darkened, unless that'll take them being in a room with real lighting in it. Normal maps might show up then too. I really like the texturing on the glass in the second image. Find more uses for that one!
ZombieUK
Imma Noob when it comes to textureing but I gotta say Very Well done! I dunno anything about Normal Maps or what not but I like what I see. And from the Brightness, I think its interior Lighting. been tweaking about with that recently and the color is affected by the Lighting and /or local light sources. Nice Work Mr.Buddah. buddah
Because of how that particular mesh is mapped, it may be specific to it...there are about 40 steps involved to get the detais to display correctly on the display case doors. So it may not display the same way elsewhere. Etching may be elongated along parallel edges, I have not mastered remapping the uv map as of yet.. There are normal maps there. I have my lighting set up to show details of the work, they will appear darker in game depending on your settings. I usually play at about 50 - 60 % of the current lighting. It is necessary to show the transparency of the lace drapes.

ub3rman123
So what did you make the textures from? I've always wondered how people can make such realistic textures without making the item yourself and snapping a photo.
buddah
What did you make the base textures from? >SNIP< My Imagination, and some good tools. The top one From a simple hexagon generator, stretched/elongated and tiled and highlights and shadows applied by hand.. The rose corners, from an existing one in reality Disected and reapplied in varying layers and hand retouched to achieve the effect I was looking for. The lace the same way, the underlying colors from photoshop.
buddah
Even lower class can have class with the right texture applied. A simple pattern with some trim, and a special blanket/ http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/buddah%20textures/Lowerclasswithclass.jpg A nifskope render, but it displays nicely and I have it under daylight light settings so it is way bright.
