buddah
Well you asked how I did it, here is a rather concise breakdown: Original image http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/Step%20by%20Step/CelticCornersImage.png Embossed and cutout to base texture: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/Step%20by%20Step/CelticCornerEmbossedandCutOut.png Placed in corners and opacity/fill adjusted to show detail and depth: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/Step%20by%20Step/CelticCorners.png Normal Map http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/Step%20by%20Step/CelticCornersNormalMaps.png Closeup showing detail case closed: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/Step%20by%20Step/NewCorner.jpg Case open to show detail of the etching: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/Step%20by%20Step/DetailShot.jpg Final result: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/Step%20by%20Step/finalresult.jpg It took a bit of time to do this, but it is to demonstrate some of what it takes to create a detailed etching. Micky This one I am holding on to for the mod I am working on and will not be immediately available until it is released.

SavageArtistry
Looking good! A suggestion which may possibly save you time and/or give you more ideas is to use photo textures from stock sites. I know of two free ones off the top of my head, and best of all the resources are free whether you want to make free or commercial projects. www.morguefile.comwww.imageafter.com
