Those crashes are back....

Hi everyone.

 

As the title says, those evil random crashes are back. This time, I'm ready for war.

 

Anyway, I think I remember seeing something about Fallout 3 and Windows 7 Program files not getting along with each other or something. Can someone please explain what this means?

 

I want to be able to play Fallout 3 without having to save every 5 minutes.

Try to reinstal game, if you can.

I did that a while back, but apparently installing Fallout 3 to the C: Program Files is bad or something like that.

 

Anyone know where I should install it if I want to run mods without crashes?

Install it anywhere BUT C:\Program Files\etc........

(e.g. C:\Games\Fallout3)

 

All has to do with UAC in vista / Win7

 

As for running without crashing - almost impossible, especially when you start chucking mods into the mix. Some of us are luckier than others and can play for hours / days / weeks without crashing - but it is always a case of when....

Ok, I'll try this.

 

Seems Microsoft's obsession with security is becoming more of a curse than a file infected with a virus, or at least that's where it's headed.

If it doesn't work, try killing yourself. No, really, kill yourself using the console. THat will usually take care fo crashes on auto/quicksave. I used to crash randomly like you have, and since doing this every so often, is seems to have stopped.
