McclaudEagle
I think most parts of the world will remain the same. Some areas will become more like deserts due to Global Warming. Some scientists believe the only resource that will be fought over is water. We are too far into hybrid/electric technology for petroleum to be a factor. Nuclear power would be a dominant power supply to most nations. I doubt any nuclear weapons will be used in a Resource War because they'll still be too scared to use them. Nuclear weapons are more of a deterrent than a weapon. It's unlikely that Russia will go to war with the USA because they'd have no reason to do so. The nations that are most likely to suffer from lack of water are the ones that aren't even a threat, e.g. Kenya. This means a Resource War between the super-power nations is unlikely. It would be more likely that the suffering countries would be fighting among themselves.
DarkZerker
I believe that within 200 years, the world would be divided into the genetically superior(ones with money or power)and the inferior(normals). Within that, hopefully, that would be the only discrimination and all the countries would either scramble for that last patch of resources or be united under one leader much like Europe. Within that, the world would be covered in cities and towns with warring countries only existing between the power hungry gods of the world(U.S, China, Russia, North Korea, Europe) and the small nations of Africa and the Middle East. After that...well countries will fall and rise with only a couple powerhouses remaining to take control of the world. That is...if the UN doesn't unite all the countries. KDStudios
World unity won't and can't happen so we can rule that one out.Nuclear war, slight possibility but very unlikely so we can rule that one out.Resource wars? Na. We will actually learn how to recycle water by then. We all love our recycling today. It will only become more common to do so. So rainwater will be collected and filtered from your own town without relying on water companies as much.Fossil fuels will be gone by then unless we find more.So we will be living off renewable energy like solar, water and wind power.Powerful/Big nations will be mostly powered by nuclear. The world population will be... Well out of control.Which is the biggest problem we will be facing.Unless there is a disaster that will balance the population of the world.Poverty and suffering is the most likely outcome to that. LadyMilla
In one word: WEC (World Economic Consortium). (Does anybody remember the old game Crusader: No Regret and No Remorse? My brother is a fan of old games, and he flooded me with 'unsolicited information' about these two titles while he was playing them. ). Through lobby groups and continued mergers, giant multinational companies whose revenues already exceed the GDP of small countries will strong arm governments into bowing to their wishes so the real power will be held by these organizations without any accountability. Privacy will be severely reduced under the pretext of protecting national security (already happening). Fossil fuels will be running low or will have ran out, and transition to non-fossil power sources will be painful due to short-sighted oil companies obstructing the process in the hope of earning extraorbitant profits due to the ever increasing oil prices. Beyond non-renewable energy sources, clean drinking water will be the focus of the renewed struggle for resources. Global warming will continue, polar icecaps will continue to melt, leading to rising sea levels, which will result in further conflicts. In nutshell, the world will be a difficult place to live in.
